Ultimate Reset: Fad Diet or worth the investment?

I've sort of back tracked on my progress and at my heaviest. I haven't stepped on a scale out of fear, but if I am to guess I'm hovering on 200 lbs. My clothes don't fit, my back hurts, legs hurt, and I feel bad emotionally.
I really want something to sort of jumpstart better habits and to help me get into the routine of eating better. After all, 21 days is enough to make and break a habit. Unfortunately my husband is DEAD against it, and I understand his side. However, if someone OUTSIDE of beachbody can attest that this is something that's worth the initial $200 investment, I'm willing to do it. It is my health after all.
I'm excited to see opinions on this. Thanks.

$200?? No way, it's totally unneeded, just eat a calorie deficit.
If you have to have some major change in your lifestyle to get yourself in the right mindset then you can do that without spending $200!0 -
Waste of money. You don't need to pay for special foods, supplements or equipment to lose weight. What you need is a calorie deficit. There is no such thing as "jump starting your body". Small changes to some of your habits may be enough to improve your health dramatically. Small changes are also easier to implement and maintain.0

Don't spend $200, spend $20 on a food scale and start weighing and logging everything you eat, you'll soon see results as long as you're in a calorie deficit. No jump start required0

I do like some of Beachbody's products but $200 for a 1 month "reset" just doesn't make sense to me. Start measuring out your food to consume the proper caloric value for your nutrition needs and weight loss goals, and find some sort of exercise routine that you enjoy and can stick to. Good luck!0

Heres what I noticed about it, it is basically a bunch of detoxes, vitamins, and minerals and aminos. You can basically do that on your own for much cheaper. Start out with a clean eating type diet like the whole 30. That gets you to where you get used to eating healthy if thats too restrictive for you, then start simple and cut out processed and junk food and fast food and soda.
it can be overwhelming to do too much at once so start of with excluding soda and chips. If that is a great weakness bc that cuts out alot of calories. Cut your calories down about 200 to 300 to start. Look up healthy meals and meal plan.
Start walking and then build up to working out with something you love doing. Get active moe about 10 to 15 minutes at least a day.0 -
There's no such thing as a "jump start." You just do it. Get a food scale and start today. No amount of money is going to make the weight come off any faster.0

Thanks everyone! I know $200 is steep and I guess it's pretty obvious that it's a waste. Like everyone else, I was hoping for some "miracle" cure to my own lack of self-control. That's the hardest bit, the self control. I definitely appreciate the advice and opinions.

I don't like the idea of special diets for x amount of time. I eat food that I love/like because weight loss is a long term life style change. What is your plan for after the program?0

That's the thing. There is no miracle cure. You just have to want it and do what it takes to get there. Which is eating less and moving more.

Save that $200 for some pretty new clothes when you get to your goal by eating at a deficit and losing it in a safe and healthy way. Much more pleasing!

I agree that there's no such thing as a jump start and you just need to start counting calories.....but I've also found for me, making a drastic change to start can help me get back on track and into good habits. What has worked for me is to use that month (or week) to commit to only eating whole, natural foods (think meats, whole grains, fruits and veggies). Go out and shop and then when there's that cookie in the office or the chips, it's easy to say "no I'm not doing that this month". After that, you'll have an easier time working the splurge foods back into your diet in moderation and you'll see how much better your body feels and how many fewer calories you need when you're eating healthier foods (at least that's how it has worked for me).

You can't PAY for self control. It's just something you instill in yourself. How? You COMMIT to it..............for at least 21 days to form a new habit.
