Hi back Jan! I too have fibro and TMJ is usually a part of that. My TMJ was fixed by my orthodontist - he made me a special mouthguard to sleep in. Worked like a charm even though it was 2700 for initial visit and all checkups plus 700 for the lab if I remember correctly. Sooooo worth it, I wish I'd done it sooner. There's a Fitness with Fibro Group here although it is not very active, for obvious reasons, lol. You are welcome to friend :)

Hi Jan! I have fibro too and have found that losing weight, eating more veggies and fruit versus fast food, and receiving regular chiropractic and myofascial therapeutic massage has made a huge difference in the level of pain that I feel each day. You can add me if you like. :)

I'm in the UK so I've seen a dental specialist but can't have a guard as the make me be sick so I'm doing physiotherapy for it and they've even said I may need acupuncture!!! I've got my next appointment on the 8th July!!! I'm on Facebook under a lot of UK based support groups who have meeting but I've only managed to get to one so far!!! I'm registered disabled so I'm in an Employment And Support Group as I cannot work and I get a payment a month from Personal Independence Payment for Daily Living!!! I used to be a long distance HGV Class 1 driver but gave it up to look after my nephews in 2009 - I was diagnosed February 2014 with fibromyalgia and last October with TMJ!!! We are lucky not to have to pay for consultations or work done - but we do have to wait for the appointments!!! I also do mindfulness which I find helps with the pain and I also find going to see one of my favourite bands will also help me and lift my mood!!! I'm off to bed now as its 01.13 here and I'm up at 07.00 to help my mum with my nephews while my sisters at work!!! Nite Nite and Big Hugz Hun!!! XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Hiya Debubbie - Yeah I do eat a lot of fruit & veggies - can't have fast food as I'm wheat intolerant so I'm on wheat/gluten free food!!! Chiropractic & myofascial therapeutic massage would cost and I don't have the money as I'm on disability!!! I do mindfulness and music therapy (when I can get out when one of my favourite tribute bands are playing)!!! I'm hoping to do the 8week mindfulness course through my voluntary work through Scope/Alder Hey!!! Speak later!!! Big Hugz Hun!!! XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Awesome to find others with fibro!!!! (Well, not awesome that y'all have it...)
I'm looking for friends, buy especially those who understand that I can't do a lot of these exercises and NO it's not an excuse.
I've also got hypothyroidism, herniated discs, blah blah. Fibro always brings along friends lol

Yes it's good to be able to connect with others with Fibro - I've noticed lots of people have overlapping things that I think put more pressures on us!!! I have real problems with exercise but I've got to the point of not worrying about it - when I feel ok (ish) I'll go and do a bit of shopping and that's my exercise!!! I use crutches all the time while out!!! Big Hugz Hun!!! XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Yes exercise is a big problem but I wouldn't overly worry about it!!! Only do as much as you can without over doing it - graded exercise and pacing is what you need to do - start small and build it up if possible!!! I don't bother with structured exercise - I find it difficult just walking without anything else although I would like to get back to doing a bit of swimming!!! Big Hugz Hun!!!
