Couldn't find an appropriate spot for this question, but what does it mean when a forum member's avatar is currently displayed behind bars? I assume they've been naughty, but does it mean they're in time out? That their posts are being moderated? Or are they a step away from the ejection seat?

Just curious. :)

It means they have been naughty. I believe there are other restrictions, like only being able to post every 2.5 minutes etc.

it means that for some reason the powers that be have decided that, against all evidence to the contrary, an attempt at public shaming for transgressing the posting rules is appropriate

it's kind of concerning but we do not talk about it ... because talking about it can also land you in jail

right I'm off to the gym

The first rule of prison bars is don't talk about prison bars or how childish they are ;-) http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10007789/flagged-content-reported-posts-warning-points#latest

I've never been an inmate. Is it some kind of weird badge of honor or something? B)

I thought this thread was going to be about Avatar the Last Airbender being shown to prisoners to reform them. Disappointed.

When people run around trolling like they own the place, sometimes they actually sorta kinda do something about it. Yet it's rare that trolls actually get removed, so.... you see how well it works lol. You know this thread is going to get deleted because it's actually against the rules to TALK about this lol.

Seriously? What rule is it breaking? Or am I just being a naïve noob?

Probably not a rule - the only reason I can think for it to get deleted is that there might have been lots of threads about this in the past which have degenerated pretty quickly into moanfests, and admins are over it. Wait and see I guess. :-)

Oh wow, I thought it was a setting that members were choosing, to keep their avatars private or something lol. Well I learned something new today :)

I'm such a loser that when I first saw it, I just assumed that was the person's actual avatar. It took me a while to realize that this was actually different people. D'oh.

Some people post profile pictures of themselves in the nude or in their underwear. Either of which is a violation of the community guidelines. I expect that is why they are in jail, but what I don't understand is why they don't change their profile pictures to something more modest.

Thanks for the link. It is good to know that the moderators will not tolerate personal attacks.

It appears from reading the link that The best policy is to keep posts positive, I.e., if you don't have something positive to say don't say anything at all, and if a poster attacks you or others, flag the post immediately.

    Thanks again for the link!

You may want to note that the mods take a very dim view of people making spurious complaints.
