-Trail mix instead of candy,
-Sparkling water instead of soda,
-Protein/ granola bars as opposed to chocolate
-Crackers as opposed to chips
If you think of any other alternatives please comment!

Why are any of these inherently 'healthier' than the original, when the original is consumed in a sensible and balanced manner within a well planned and balanced daily dietary intake?

I disagree with you on your granola bars vs chocolate. Dark chocolate can be a lot healthier for you than some of those granola bars, by far!
Other than that, I don't really substitute certain foods, I just eat the same but cut back.
However, instead of scrambling eggs with more than one egg, I now use one egg and half cup of egg whites :)
I've also switched to Silk Unsweetened Soy Milk instead of regular milk (since the protein is very close and it has way less carbs and calories) or almond milk (which is good, but has hardly any, if any, protein).

EDIT: I also wouldn't consider crackers necessarily better than chips since they still really don't provide any real nutrition, but Calbee's Harvest Snaps are great and satisfying little snacks which are full of protein and fiber!

Eating an appropriate number of calories instead of eating too many calories.

I don't think of granola bars and crackers as healthy alternatives to anything. I'd look for fresh, whole foods like fruit and vegetables, raw nuts, beef, chicken, fish, full fat dairy, etc.

I like to put the Calbee's on my salads.

It all depends on the ingredients within these products. There are some protein bars that have more calories and sugar than chocolate bars. Does that make them a healthier option?

Many crackers can be just as bad as chips as well.

My favourite snack is a tablespoon of coconut oil sprinkled with cacoa powder and a touch of xylitol, it is lovely and tastes like a dark chocolate bounty bar :)

more calories doesnt always mean worse. protein bars have more protein, so this causes calories to go up.

Depending on who makes it, trail mix can be exactly the same as candy.

Heck, I've bought trail mix with actual candy in it. M & M's or mini peanut butter cups.

My real favorite trail mix is with dried cranberries, though.
