Struggles this week: Cooking. I've just been a bit meh in the kitchen lately and it's harming my food. Not eating enough veg.
Successes: I can eat garlic! So I'm on the FODMAP diet to try and figure out what is wrong with my gut. Well I come from a family that uses multiple cloves of garlic in a dish and then tops it up with some garlic powder. But for this diet I've gone off garlic, onions & oniony like, high fructose fruits, etc. to test them individually. I definitely pinned down onions as a problem food last fortnight but have been waiting for my gut to heal a little before trying on garlic. Well I haven't had any issue. Made a spag bol sauce last night with the most delicious garlicky flavours and it didn't hurt me. I could dance. It seems so silly but pinning down my problem foods has been so helpful. Next I'm trying apples- wish me luck because dear lord almighty I miss my apples!
Today I ran. A block. I haven't been able to run outside for years. And even though I still needed my inhaler, it was awesome, and my puppy was happy to go for a small run at the end of our walk.0 -

Successes/struggles: I had a really good weekend for the first time since the month of March. I stuck to my calories every day and actually got a workout in. I also had a big NSV yesterday. My in-laws fixed my absolute favorite meal…roast in brown gravy with homemade baked macaroni and cheese. That is normally one HUGE first plate, a second slightly smaller helping, AND a big lunch plate for the next day. Well I stuck to one small plate of very small portions and did not go back for seconds nor did I make a lunch plate for today. I enjoyed it and was full after I ate my small plate. Huge victory!!!

Successes/struggles this week: I was offered a job on Friday! I have been out of work for 10 months, so this is very exciting! I did not go out and party, actually, I stayed true to my calorie intake for the rest of the week. I think what “got” me was that I did not exercise on Friday or Saturday. Plus, just another reason why I try not to weigh more than once a week since I know the scale can go up and down daily and this is usually very discouraging to me. Here’s to a great week of working out!
