A very slow 15 minute mile, but it was uphill most of the way, and didn't stop! 144 Cal. (note, this was AFTER my 1.89 c25kw2d1 workout, and a 5K walk in 49:19 min.) ... for a total of 809 Cal and 6 miles.

Wahoo! I haven't gotten to that point yet, but when I was exercising before I got pregnant I did. When I ran my first mile I started crying. I couldn't believe it! Granted it was only at 5mph, but I did it! You should be really proud!0

I was at a jogging trail when i hit my first mile mark and I KNOW i looked like a maniac. I busted out in an undefined "happy dance" full blown with fist pumps and verbal outbursts... HILARIOUS. My point is celebrate that victory in a memorable fashion so when you reach your running goal you can look back and break out in a happy dance that looks even more insane. keep up the good work!0

Fantastic, well done0

Way to go!0

Really great! It's all down hill from here!
I remember when I first started running and how difficult it was to run even 1/8 of a mile, but I kept at it and once I got to where I could run a mile, it wasn't long before I could run 3!
Now I run races (usually 5Ks but I did run a 10 mile last month) and do interval training to improve my time. It's a great workout and I really enjoy getting outside, even in bad weather (well, bad COLD weather, I still haven't gotten used to running when it's hot out)
Now that you hit the 1 mile mark, you might consider seeing if your town has a local running club that puts on races. We have a 5K almost every other weekend that I can run, which keeps me motivated to run in the off weeks so I can "beat my time from last year"
Good Luck and Good Job with all the hard work!0 -
Excellent accomplishment! Keep going!0

That's awesome!
I remember my first mile ran...
Keep a log of your running. You'll have something to look back on and be proud of. I use an Excel spreadsheet. I'm almost at 800 miles ran since I started. a year ago.
Keep on keepin' on girl! :drinker:0 -
Whoooooohoooooo. Good Job! That is fantastic!0

Well done!
Word of advice, from personal experience, though... Don't push too much, and take your rest days on the C25K. Nothing like a fresh pair of legs. Doing otherwise will bring fatigue and decrease in performance.0 -
hey, that's great!! i hope to do that soon!!0
-
:flowerforyou: :drinker: THAT IS AWESOME! I can not wait until I can post that I ran a full mile! That is amazing! Keep it up!0

I am soooo proud of you!! I remember the first time I ran a mile, I cried!! I called a friend after I stopped, I was out of breath, crying and could barely speak, but I was on cloud nine.
To this day, the first mile marker is my favorite because I remember the feeling of the first time. It is pure excitement!
YOU ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
