why are the two daily goals different per page?

so my calorie goal is set up to 1410 based on a 250 cal deficit.
i use a fitbit so it syncs extra activity. i currently have it set on sedentary as i figured out yesterday i did not like negative adjustments later on in the day when i become inactive.
some days when i am working i can be sedentary as i have a desk job and on my active days i have been eating the calories back and following the main home page which gives me a NET
on the food page at the bottom it gives me a different daily goal today it is giving me what i would say is a sedentary TDEE and not a deficit.
i am not sure why the figures are different can someone enlighten me before i really feel i have lost the plot?

Because fitbit adds calories when you move more so you automatically get the extra calories added

It also extrapolates across the day so can go up and down, say if you took a long morning walk it would extrapolate that activity across the day and then if you re synch at 6pm may reduce your calories

Over time it will learn your patterns and be more accurate

Oh and you should still have negative adjustments enabled at sedentary because it takes me 2500-4000 steps to hit sedentary

Can you explain exactly what your seeing?
The number at the bottom of the Food diary page should be your total available calories. If you look at the calories on the bottom of the food page does it match your current intake + your remaining calories from the home page?

on the home page it gives me 1410 + any activity throughout synced by fitbit today the extra cals are 140 so far which i have been going by - on my food page its giving me a daily goal of 1739 which is not matching the other goal + added activity. not sure why its doing this it never used to?

1760 is her net calorie goal. 2251 is the real number of calories she needs to eat to achieve a net of 1760, given the adjustment for exercise.

I'm a bit confused by your question. But a good starting point: make sure Fitbit and MFP have the same pounds per week loss goal. If they do, then the results should be fairly close at the end of the day.

During the day, the recommended calories will be different because of different methods. MFP assumes you will burn X per day based on your stats and activity level. It also thinks you will burn X/24 per hour - does not assume you have some sleeping hours and some active/awake hours. Set to sedentary, Fitbit assumes you are going to be comatose for the rest of the day but will add calories as you earn them.

My suggestion: backwards engineer it. I have an idea of what I need to burn per day. For me, at maintenance, that's about 1750-1850. When I look at my Fitbit app (also set on sedentary) I can tell that I need to move more, or if I've met that objective. Mondays are a horrible day for me - I'll be working to get my activity in tonight. So for right now Fitbit says I've logged 491 and have only 866 left. 491 + 866 = 1357. I need to burn an additional ~400-500 calories to meet my personal objective.

1760 (MFP initial goal) plus 491 (exercise calories) = 2251 (goal calories)

It's the same info just expressed differently

From her copy and paste there is something weird going on with hers.

    Her homepage has:
    Goal 1410
    Exercise 122
Given that she should have a total goal of 1532, but her total goal in her diary is 1811 (including the same 122 exercise).

@rachylouise87 I see why your confused. You might want to send an email over to support.
