Starvation Mode....?

Well, I have been reading about this and it has started making me wonder - is this why I have gained so much weight in the past few weeks back? Because I was fine like 4 weeks ago, but I have gained some weight back! Is it because I was making myself not eat so much? I left MFP for while and didn't keep track of the calories, but I know I wasn't eating very much. Hmm... what should I do? Now that I am back on here, I have to lose like... 13 pounds before the end of July. That's my goal - to be 180 by the end of July. Help!

what have your 'net' calories been like at the end of day? are they quite a bit less than your daily calorie goal?0

I'm not a professional, but I'd say that you probably want to get above the "starvation mode" marker. Doesn't have to be by a lot. If you notice you're under, try eating a piece of fruit, or some peanut butter to give you a small calorie burst to make sure you're getting enough calories. It is true that you can put your body into starvation mode if you don't eat enough, and while i'm not sure how exact the mark on this site is, it seems best to not tempt fate.0

Make sure your net consumption at least equals to your BMR or more. Without enough energy, your body will try its best to save all calorie intake and start to break down muscles, the things burn calories indeed, to keep physiological functions.0
