A number of people are advocating raw milk. Before you do this, you might read some science based evaluations. Raw milk is not save; up to 12% of raw mild samples are contaminated by pathogenic bacteria. From 1998 on, more than 40 separate outbreaks have been attributed to raw milk consumption that resulted in more than 800 illnesses.

Pregnant women run a serious risk of becoming ill from the bacteria Listeria which can cause miscarriage, fetal death or illness or death of a newborn.

This is why we should not drink cow's milk. Pasturized or not. Almond milk for me please!

Raw milk is sold here, and they always post the the test results for all of the "bad guys" right next to the fridge where they keep it. I don't see any reason not to enjoy its benefits, especially when one is aware of its safety.

My whole family drinks it every day, yum! I think you have to be aware of where your milk is coming from and know your farmer, but we have been drinking it for a year without issue. Healthy happy grass-fed cows make the best milk!

I suggest The Untold Story of Milk as a great information read as to why the pasteurization of milk began. Sick & diseased cows feeding on swill from distilleries who had a short life of 2-3yrs back in the 1920's weren't making healthy milk and thus began pasteurization.

Just like we prefer our milk to be real, that's how we enjoy our eggs, chickens, beef, pork, etc... I buy from a local farmer whose animals get a lovely happy life and that's the way it should be. :D

I'm sure its fine if you're used to it. I tried it once and was sick afterwards. No thanks. I'll stick to my organic skim. Although, I did have Vanilla Soy Milk (stolen from my veggie wife) w/ my oatmeal this morning, and it wasn't half bad.

We have been drinking full fat real RAW milk for 5 years now - both of my small kids went from breast to raw. One even drank a milk based infant formula --- none of us were ever ill from raw milk. Raw milk from a clean cow is healthy. Raw milk from unhealthy cows raised and milk in unhealthy conditions is not!

Again back to telling people to research things for themselves NOT listen to the convential 'current' wisdom

Soy and skim, these 2 makes me arghhh ... acne and cancer is all I have to say
Milk your cat? Not going to even touch that stupidness ...

The only healthy milk comes from contented cows living natural cow lives in pastures. If you want milk that's full of pus resulting from the mastitis of sick cows, then drink pasteurized milk. Healthy raw milk comes from healthy cows. Sick pasteurized milk comes from sick cows living in sick environments.

When cows are stored in sick environments, they become sick and produce sick milk requiring pasteurization so it won't kill you. Modern factory farming reduces dairy cattle to barely living milk-producing sacs. They are pain-wracked, live in fear, are starved for relationships with their fellows, pumped full of antibiotics and other system-changing drugs. Obviously, they can produce only sick milk.

First of all, please understand that I do not recommend drinking pasteurized milk of any kind -- ever. Because once milk has been pasteurized it's more or less "dead," and offers little in terms of real nutritional value to anyone, whether you show signs of intolerance to the milk or not.

Valuable enzymes are destroyed, vitamins (such as A, C, B6 and B12) are diminished, fragile milk proteins are radically transformed from health nurturing to unnatural amino acid configurations that can actually worsen your health. Finally the eradication of beneficial bacteria through the pasteurization process actually ends up promoting pathogens.
