I have started doing interval training (beginner ) incline 1% 5 mins warm up then 20 mins interval 20 secs work 10 sec rest is this ok for first time? I'm really sweaty when I come off. I also a kettlebell work out after with body weight exercise too. I'm struggling to find an app to calculate my work out also. So I have put 100 cals per 15 min...is that ok?

Firstly the best way to work out calories burned is to invest in a heart rate monitor. Everyone is different and so burn calories at different rates. A HR monitor will work out how fast your heart is beating and once you input height and weight will work out the calories for you.
For your interval training (of which I'm a huge fan) your already doing a great job. I normally go balls out for 30 seconds, normally top speed on tredmill then down to a fast walk for a minute. I do this after a 10 minute warm up and do it for about 20 minutes

Brilliant thanks. Do you recommend a heart monitor?

Actually, I will have to disagree with Pelamblue. A HRM is not designed for interval training. They can be accurate for steady state cardio but the interval type trainings will throw it way off as HR does not equal calories burned.

Oh ok. I do prefer interval as it's quick for me I'm just gutted I can't work out how much I'm burning x
