Hey all,

I'm trying to find out what my ideal weight should be for my height as I really have no idea and am getting a little confused with it to be honest! I know on a BMI scale I'm in the normal range but the normal range differs by over 25lbs so isn't really helping lol.

I'm 28, male and 5ft 11", currently 161.7lbs

Thanks

You're comfortably in the healthy bmi range and pretty near the middle of it. I would suggest not worrying about that figure anymore and shift your focus to fitness targets, toning, etc.

Try not to focus on the weight on the scale and take body measurements every week to see how much you have lost in different areas. If you're building muscle/toning it's likely that the scales won't actually change much but there will be a difference in the way your body looks/ feels :) Good Luck!

You are in the healthy range, but I get the feeling you're not happy....Not sure how long you've been at your current weight but it might be a case of your head needing to catch up with your weight loss, which, by the way is fantastic...well done!

It could also be that you're not seeing what you hoped you'd be seeing, skin stretches etc etc ... maybe time to work on toning and building some muscle or maybe once again a little time is needed to let your new body adjust, the skin etc will settle but it takes a while...i'm thinking of my jelly belly after giving birth and losing the weight, I never thought it would recover but it did, loose wrinkly skin became normal over about 6 months without losing or gaining any weight.

True! I guess I was expecting more after losing over 100lbs, maybe I wanted too much?
