Sports Bra Advice Needed

This one specifically for the woman out there with bigger bust sizes...
I currently wear a 38DD bra size and am having a heck of a time finding a sports bra that works and cuts down on bounce (ow) now that I'm doing a lot more cardio. I did 4.5 miles yesterday and my current bras just aren't working anymore. I was using the older version of the Champion underwire sports Bra from Macy's but it's just not cutting it anymore. Though I would like it to also be cute it's not a requirement, I just want it to be comfortable and do a good job!
Any advice would be much appreciated.

That pretty much covers the main ones I see recommended her all the time.
FTR - I use the Moving Comfort, a few models. I'm breastfeeding which makes things a little more complicated/sensitive and I've been using the Fiona and love it. It is so comfortable.0 -
I'm as big as you and I got an Under Armour one last week for my 1st 5k. It worked well0

Check out Title 9 sports online. They specialize in sport bras for women with large cup sizes.0

Some of the ladies at my gym wear a bust wrap over their sports bra. Since loosing most of my weight I can get by with the glamorize no bounce.

I like Shock Absorber and I'm a 34F currently. I was a 38F when I first tried one. I have both the Ultimate Gym and Ultimate Run versions. I also have a bra by LaLa Ilsa(sp?) that's identical to the Shock Absorber Ultimate Run but was about half the price. They all give the uniboob look but that's the least of my worries when working out.0

this one. i know they make a 38 D, not sure about a DD. This is the most amazing sports bra. No others even compare.

I was in the same place as you for years until Victoria's Secret came out with their sports line. I highly recommend their sports bras- they are amazing!!! I haven't found a competitor yet. They are pricey- $60 but they have sales a lot which makes them half off. I can't wait until the next sale so I can get new ones!0

I second Shock Absorber, especially the 4490. I wear a UK size 30G and you can pry mine from my cold dead hands cause otherwise I won't give it up.0

Panache sport. Works on 32g0
-
Panache sports, fantastic bra, 34F no bounce or wobble0

Therealobi1, annh7, bless you for mentioning the Panache sports, I was trying to figure out what mine was after I figured I needed to be resized but the tag had faded completely! I can third the recommendation, I'm a 34G and I can sprint comfortably in it or keep up in ballet class without worrying about bouncing out of my tank! I also have the Shock Absorber and it works great too, but the Panache give a more boob shape under my clothes so I can wear it without looking weirdly blocky, whereas the Shock Absorber gives a more traditionally bound looking chest and I like to change into at class rather than travel to class wearing it, it also sits higher on the chest and peeks out my neckline. I'll get whichever one I see on sale first, they're both great, but I have a slight preference for the Panache.0

Same size here - another vote for the panache. Best sports bra I have ever owned, and I've had a fair few in my time!0 -
I like shock absorber. I'm 34g so I need to keep them tethered! Hardly any movement. Not a good look but who cares as long as I don't get 2 black eyes0

When it comes down to it you need a sports bra that will hold you in not flop you around. When choosing a sports bar don't cut cost after all you don't want saggy bags. When purchasing a sports bra I look for quality material, strong heavy duty that can keep up with my activity, I also choose sports bras that have thick shoulder bands have have a lot of back coverage, not the stringy bras the b cupers use, finally if possible I buy one size smaller that what I normally use. These 3 things have worked for me so far. The 2 brands I love is underarmor and adidas. Hope this helped!0

Running stores have a good selection and you can try them on.
I wear the Enell. It's ghastly but it works for my 32FFs0 -
Look for a bra that has both upper and lower clasps. When I was overweight (with a slight shoulder injury) it was impossible to wrestle out of any razorbacks that couldn't be fully opened up. Yes, there were a couple of moments where I've had to call out for help from a random nearby sister to get unstuck from garment. Not fun0

If you want to be cheap, you can double up. I've been doing that to go jogging. Each sports bra is a bit too small. The outside sports bra is a cheap front-zip that keeps everything in place.
One I have found that does work on its own (no doubling up) is the Glamorise No Bounce back closure. I bought that about one band size and one cup size too small, and it's worked wonders.
For context, I am probably a 44 DD. Or maybe a DDD. I haven't measured since gaining this weight.0 -

Sports bras - especially high impact ones - last about a year before you'll start to notice they're wearing out (that's assuming it gets one good workout in per week/gets washed once per week.
I like Moving Comfort (I was a 38DD, now 36DD/38D depending on style). I have the Juno for longer runs and the Rebound Racer for shorter ones.
If you'd be interested, I'd be willing to send you the bras I've outgrown - they're all Moving Comfort Juno in 38DD. I have 3 and could send some or all if you want to try them out. I got maybe 2 months of wear out of them before they got too big so they'll be good for a long while and they're collecting dust here right now.
Send me a message if you want - and if you're not interested, that's ok! I know this sounds totally weird, lol.

Thank you so much for all your help, guys. Good advice and really really helpful.0

The VS maximum support line is amazing. Unfortunately, I just went from 32DDD to 30DDD, so mine are too loose in the band, but before that I felt they were the most amazing bras ever. I think it is the ultimate line?0

Target sells a version that comes in Bras sizes. I am also a 38dd, I play soccer, and I have found these bras to work really well. Also, they are under $30 each. http://www.target.com/p/c9-champion-women-s-high-support-sports-bra-with-molded-cup/-/A-16455651#prodSlot=large_1_2

@scg17 yes I agree that it's the best line. I also have the issue of the bra being too loose now. My band size went from 36 to 34 and now it doesn't hold as well0
-
I'm another fan of Shock Absorber bras. Not the most attractive in the world (although cheaper and more attractive than Enell), but they do the job well.0
-
@KingsGirl4 What is your cup size? I have a gently used 34DD you could have if you want. I'm keeping my 32DDDs until I can find something better (I just wear a normal sports bra over top now).
Edited to add: I don't know if that is weird or not, I really didn't get to use it much!0 -
Moving comfort best money ever spent. Hard to get in and out of but well worth the money0
-
I'm not quite as large as you or most of the women who have posted- but I've had success with Champion Powersleek style 1691 bras.
Sometimes I still double up with a good regular bra for really high impact activity though.0 -
+1 for Moving Comfort!0

I have tried:
Panache underwire
Freya
Shock Absorber Ultimate Run
Glamorise (can't remember the model)
I am a 34 band with a G/H cup depending on bra (European brands run differently).
I run up to 30 minutes at a time in these and am able to forget they are there.
Panache- Its a bulkier bra. Pros: smooth cups, and boob separation better than any other I've tried. I like the underwire as well, though it makes it a bit more work for washing. Probably the best of the bunch for moisture wicking. I never feel sweaty in the bust region in this bra. Downside: really really needs to be fitted well. It was awesome when I first got it but lost serious support after I lost as little as 15lbs. Runs in the $60 range.
Freya- Also underwire, so gives good support and some separation. Comes in great colors. Has more seams so slightly more visible under clothing if that matters to you. I find the racerback hook on the back a bit more tricky than some others, but definitely doable. Same retail price range as Panache.
Shock Absorber- A compression bra, so you can't avoid the uniboob. However, the fact that it is wireless makes it easy to toss into the wash. A few unique things I love about it are largely the way the back straps are constructed. You can easily adjust where the racerback clasp is located, and there is a rubberized piece over each back strap which helps it stay in place. Same retail price range as those above.
Glamorise: Not as good for bounce control as those above, but if you're on a budget, the best there can be found in the $20-$30 range. Unfortunately, the first I bought didn't fit so I sent it back and no longer have one in my rotation.
Cost notes: Once you know your size, give yourself a reminder to check amazon daily. Very often, one particular size and close-out color will go on a great sale. You just have to be patient and keep checking back. I got both of my shock absorber bras at a great price- one black that shipped locally and was $20! Another in awesome purple that took 3 weeks to get here from London, but worth the $30 I spent. My Freya bra was $14, provided I was willing to accept red. Hell yeah I was. Red is sexy, and did I mention $14!!
Other notes: Most of these bras suck for exercise by the large-busted without having the racerback snapped. The one exception is probably Shock Absorber. I have run while forgetting to clasp it before, and it was fine.

+1 for Freya and Moving Comfort.
I'm a 40DD and had a Moving Comfort bra that I loved and never thought to get another for the longest time. When I did finally have the realization they don't make that 'model' anymore so the newer ones I'm not as in love with but they still work. I just bought a Freya one off Amazon and I love it! So I rotate between my two Moving Comfort's and the Freya for my workouts and never feel exposed or like I'm going to whack myself in the face either. I do HIIT training 3x a week FYI.
ETA: I cannot for the life of me get the racerback to clip when I'm wearing it so I beg someone to help me out (usually my fiance or my trainer). It's the only thing that pisses me off!0
