I'm a binge eater!

Hello everyone! Three months ago my life changed completely, I moved to another country, found work and now I'm living in an Apartment alone. My problem is that when I go home after working, I feel like I'm possessed by a demon, I have to get to the fridge and I eat like a pig.
Probably I've always had this kind of eating disorder, I've always been obsessed with the scale. My weight was 108kgs (1,75 meters tall) some years ago, then I managed to get to 70 kgs. I love junk food, and I've never been able to removed it from my life.
Recently I've been totally out of control, I am so obsessed by food, that I don't even take some time to cook. I put food in the Microwaves, and i can barely wait a minute for them to be ready. Is there a way to stop this? I gained 10kgs! Please help me :(

I have exactly the same dilemma dude! You just need to take a long hard look at yourself in the mirror. I got so sick of seeing my weight increase... I felt so unmotivated and lethargic. Then one day enough is enough. Buddy up with someone on here. Tell people you're going to lose weight. That is a huge motivator because you don't want to appear to be a failure. Also just start logging your calories. Even if you're eating at a massive surplus just log it all for a week. Then analyse it and see what can be cut out. Even cutting 100 calories out of your current diet per day is a start. Drink more water also.

The one thing that really helped me is this: For one night, don't eat anything even close to bed time. Especially no heavy carbs. When you wake up the next morning, you'll feel brand new and hopefully it'll motivate you to lose some weight! Good luck man, I'm here if you want to message me.

There's no reason to give up junk food. In fact, if you do, your binges will get worse. But you can moderate it. Eat filling foods like nuts, seeds, nut butters, and high protein foods like lean meats and fish. Keep some good fat in your diet. Then take down the amount of junk food. If you eat 3 McDonald's burgers a day now, take it down to 2 for a week. The week after, 1. The week after that, one every other day. And like that you will wean yourself off of the dependence without feeling deprived.

Are you eating a decent amount of food during the day?
You may be restricting too much during the day and by the time you get home you're starving.

I'm overeating during the day. The problem is that I think to my next meal the whole day. Since I started waking up very early in the morning things have gone worse. The only thing that helps me contain my weight a bit is running. I think the problem is psychological but I can't find a way to stop me in those moments. I eat very fast, so fast that I barely know what I'm putting in my mouth. it's like being on drugs, and I don't know how to quit this habit.

I'm also 175cm tall and a binge eater and have found in the last few months that if I have access to a variety of low calorie, quick and easy snacks I am able to stop this. Even if I get home from work and I am starving hungry I just grab a snack and eat it while prepping dinner. Some things I snack on are vegetable quiche (without the pastry I think it's called frittata), devondale low fat milk with sugar free chocolate or strawberry mix, ryvita with cottage cheese etc. As soon as I have something in my stomache I feel human again and can concentrate on making a healthy dinner. I've lost 15kg so far this year calorie counting and implementing the low calorie snacks - no exercise.

Good call, I think I'll try to change my habits in the supermarket then, and buy low carb food.

Might I suggest getting involved in a hobby? It sounds like you're in this new place, possibly lonely, and you're using food to fill the emptiness you're feeling at night. Maybe if you had an activity to look forward to after work, you'd have less time to think about (and consume) food. Bonus points if it's a healthy activity and if it affords you the opportunity to meet new people. Good luck with everything!
