Yeah. I have seven cats. Hair ties are either closely guarded or lost. I buy the large packs and go through them.
What I want to know is where THE HECK do they go? Am I going to move a piece of furniture and find that underneath of it is a hair tie mountain? Although I clean under the couch and the bed regularly, so idk where else they could go.
Just wait until you move your stove. . .0 -

Mine don't last very long, so I don't worry about it. My hair is somehow waist length right now! Yikes!
It's just getting destroyed though by the sweat. It's so dry at the ends now that I'm going for a chin length hair cut on Tuesday. Finally frustrated enough to cut it.0 -
I only put my hair up when I work out and I use the clear snag free ones from sephora so they're pretty much disposable, they're cheap and hold my hair tight so It won't fall.0

I wash and dry hair ties and headbands after every use. Got a scalp infection once from reusing a sweaty headband too often....0

I keep my gym hair things separate in my gym bag and only use it for working out.0

Wow...more people use separate hair bands than I thought. Am I gross for not doing so? I just use the tiny thin ones and it doesn't get sweaty. I guess I also have a million lying around so they are rotated often too.0

I sweat a lot so it would feel icky to me to use a wet sweaty scrunchie or headband all day.0 -
I put my hair in a long tight braid (french braid to start) - tie is at the bottom - it doesn't get sweaty. The braid is easy to move out of the way for lifting (free weights not machines).0

Do you have separate hair ties for working out and normal activities. I took mine out yesterday and looked at it in all it's sweaty glory and realized I had been using it for everything for about 2 weeks.
I have waist-length hair ... I braid it when I exercise, so my bands just go around the ends of my hair. I have heaps of them, and I usually use them until they lose their elasticity.0 -
Wow, I didn't realize I'd wandered back so far in the topics until I saw the date on the post above me. Yay for post resurrection. My hair is mid-thigh length and I just use scrunchies and hairsticks as a combo...bun it with the stick and wrap the scrunchie around the base for extra support when running or other cardio, and just braid it when laying on the floor or weight bench (because laying on a hairstick = ouchhhh). If they get sweaty, I just toss them into a sock and wash them with the laundry. No biggie.0

I use the Goody brand, StayPut version. They are sort of rubberized and never feel sweaty to me. I have them everywhere. Bathroom, bedroom, nightstand, living room, gym bag, gear shift in the car (you know right?); I see two on my desk right now, one in my office bag. I do wear SweatyBands head bands though to keep the whispys out of my face. Those are too expensive to keep everywhere, and they do catch sweat and get gross. I hand wash those. Too $$$ to risk messing up in the washer.0
