He was 89.
I was lucky enough to see him 4 times over the last 40 years. In fact he was my very first concert. Late 1960's. Opening act was Big Brother and the Holding Company with Janis Joplin.
Rest in Peace

I loved him. I had heard that he was really ill so the news wasn't surprising, just sad. Lucille is weeping now.0

I saw Buddy Guy at Summerfest in Milwaukee a while back. He was very good and extremely entertaining. I kick myself for never have seen B.B. King.
I love Summerfest. You get to see the current hitmakers, classics, up-and-comers, and hear music in all genres. This year is going to be another great one with over 800 bands
BTW: Buddy Guy will be there again this year.

B.B King RIP. September 16, 1925 - May 14, 2015.
I managed to see him Live 3 times, Toronto Ontario, Edmonton Alberta and Auckland New Zealand.
Edmonton and Auckland were in smaller facilities where everyone was up close to the stage with a great view and interaction with The King. Great Performer who loved plucking the strings.
