Im looking for something low cal to eat for breakfast that will fill me up but itsnt all carbs. I'm not a big egg eater so omletes are out (I do like French toast but that's to high in carbs). Oh, and I'm a busy mom of 3 under 4 so it has to be something I can make ahead or quick :) TIA

I know you're not a big egg eater but have you tried egg whites instead? Breakfast casserole can be an option too, toss a bunch of meat, veggies and cheese together and use just enough egg whites to hold it all together. Don't go wimpy on the spices, live it up.

Anything is acceptable for breakfast in my opinion but I also think french toast, pancakes or cereal are perfectly fine for dinner.

You can make up a batch of roasted veggies, just throw a bunch of your favorites together and let them roast in the oven or on the grill. These are really easy to do at dinner and just reuse the leftovers throughout the week.
I sometimes make up extra fajita mix (chicken is my preference) and just toss that in a low carb tortilla with a little shredded cheese and plain greek yogurt as breakfast.

Cheese and fruit, celery and peanut butter, smoothies made with frozen fruit and greek yogurt are pretty fabulous too.

I don't know if you have access to good homemade unsliced wheat bread, but if you do, cut two very thin slices, spread pesto on them, and throw them in the toaster. After they're toasted, slice up 1/3-1/2 a ripe avocado and spread it over the toast. Delicious, filling, and egg-free. This tends to sit around 300 calories depending on how thick the bread is sliced and how much of the avocado you use.

In late summer when the tomatoes are ripe and delicious, I cut up a large tomato and mix it with 1/2 cup cottage cheese. Sprinkle with pepper and there's a breakfast. Less than 200 calories.

Until then, a small amount of oatmeal cooked with PB2 and a bit of salt, topped with 1/2 banana sliced, fresh or frozen blueberries, and half a cup of plain fat-free yoghurt, drizzled with local maple syrup. This is in the 250-350 calorie range. I usually cook a half cup of oatmeal and divide it in two portions so I can have this as a breakfast then a snack later on.

I know two of these breakfasts are carb-based, but personally I find that mixing small amounts of grain-based carbs in with my meals helps me stay full longer.

edited to add the calorie approximations.

Make a low cal french toast if you like them. I use Nature's Harvest Light 100% Whole Wheat Bread(40 calories per slice) with 3 table spoons/46 grams egg white(25 calories). Sweeten the egg white with Splenda or any sweetener you like. saturate the bread with the egg white, fry in pan, when done sprinkle cinnamon or whatever else you want on it and a low cal french toast. Hope this helps.

Whole wheat tortilla, one TBLS natural peanut butter and one small banana. Spread the peanut butter on the tortilla and halve the banana, the add it, roll it up and boom! Breakfast!
