How Much Did You Lose Before Anyone Noticed?

Congratulations on the loss! I agree with what a lot of folks have said, 25 to 30 pounds is my "noticeable" number I guess. That's with any swelling and water weight gone when the actual loss starts to become evident in my face and body

I've lost about 15 lbs. and no one has noticed.0

I am down 16.3 lbs, it seems I've lost it in my butt and legs... I see no difference, but I've gone down 2 pant sizes. My husband and kids see it, but that's about it. I feel SO much better since starting MFP and exercising!! And this time I am doing this for me and my health!!
Congratulations on your weight loss! Keep up the good work!0 -
It took about 20 pounds for me before anyone commented on it.0

It was about 30lbs for me. But I will say taking pictures every 10lbs or so for myself has helped me see a difference a lot more than without!0

Based on what you ask are saying I'm not expecting anyone to notice my weight loss until I lose 30-50lbs. I've loss 15 this far. Even though I am 5'2" it's not really noticeable yet.0

I probably lost 40 lb before anyone noticed, but I was 150 lb. too heavy. It really depends on the starting weight and the amount needed to lose, but it seems that most people begin to get comments around the 10% of starting weight range.0

I went from 167 to 147 since January and no one has noticed. I'm 5'11. You do this for you, not others.0

I hit 40.2 lbs lost and someone noticed for the first time today. So, seems like if you have a lot to lose then around 40 lbs is the noticing point. For those with less to lose, then around 10-20 lbs is the noticing point. Interesting, thanks for all the replies and congrats to all on your losses!0

I have been updating facebook and have been very public in my weight loss journey - and I absolutely believe it is one of the reasons I have had success this time. (Down 38...another 40+ to go) why? I think posting on FB to my friends, family and coworkers keeps me accountable - I mean these people see me in the market, work with me, share holidays with me etc. so I post maybe every 10lb and I get like 150 likes and comments galore of congrats etc. people say - what r u doing? I'm inspiring people to lose apparently. So how can I quit? How can i stop? I'm at the baseball field the other night and a mom tells me she will set me up with a weight lifting regime to help - I mean it's awesome. However...to everyone else who doesn't know I'm dieting...not a word. Lol. So what. I don't care. I think I'm looking pretty good and I am positive you do too.0
