Share some good exercise advice... in 500 characters or less

There are so many people who are enthusiastic about exercise, all doing different sports, so I though it would be nice to share some advice with each other. You can say something about your specific sports or about exercise in general. Interpret it in whatever way you like. Anyways, here's the questions and my answers:
The questions
1) What exercise do you do? (short)
2) Why do you do exercise? (limit to one 1 sentence)
3) What advice do you want to share? (max 500 characters)
My answers
1) Sports: Triathlon
2) Why exercise: being alive to me means being active and pushing my limits as far as they go.
3) Advice: don't start a new sport by buying the best gear. Start by using what you have or by borrowing. Your best asset is not gear, but discipline, which is built by doing your training, experimenting and having fun. It may seem counterintuitive, but training without great gear is actually good for motivation. Better gear is a nice reward on the way. I still don't have great gear and I only allow myself to buy more if I first become stronger myself. And this focus is exactly what sports is about for me.

1) What exercise do you do? Cardio & Strength Training
2) Why do you do exercise? So old age doesn't suck and to feel better now.
3) What advice do you want to share? You will not always have motivation to exercise. Make a list of reasons to work out and have them handy. Instead of making excuses to skip a work out use your list to talk yourself into working out.0 -
Interesting, I agree with all of you!0
