I'm with gia07 that it doesn't sound too good.... BUT I love cottage cheese. I'd be willing to give it a try.

Really doesn't sound good to me either. Also, if it is as good as you say I would make more and have double. I just love chocolate too much to have a little.

Honestly, I'm not surprised by this at all. People use ricotta cheese in desserts, so I don't see why cottage cheese is so weird. Personally, I don't like cottage cheese, butI might try this because I'm a chocoholic.

If you don't like cottage cheese, why would you try this since it's ALL cottage cheese?
    That makes zero sense.

OP, I've done something similar and it's delicious.
But this is no where near cheesecake...

Smashing thin mints and strawberries into cottage cheese is delicious.
smashing strawberries & cocoa powder into plain greek yogurt is delicious.

I am all with the greek yogurt..

It is nothing against cottage cheese, I cook things with cottage cheese in it, I think it was the adding of powdered cocoa and "fake sugar" that took me to a whole other level of "yuck" and then call it "Cheesecake" I'd rather have two bites worth of the real thing for 120 calories.

Truely it sounded disgusting to me too... that's why the post said "OK...bear with me... you have to try it before you pass judgement...".... It really is good...and no it doesn't taste like cottage cheese. (To me)

Well, seeing as the sweetener and the cocoa would change the flavor of the cottage cheese, I would say that I made perfect sense.

I like greek yogurt mixed with a little lemon/fresh vanilla pod. Tastes similar to cheesecake.

Use a hand blender to "smooth" out the lumps -- this makes all the difference. Adding the splenda / sweetener really changes the flavor. If you don't want chocolate, skip the cocoa powder & add a little lemon juice -- then you can add fresh berries to it -- yum!!!
I've also taken a mix like this, toasted a pita, flat bread, or sandwich thin, & eaten it on top. It's actually pretty good. You can also mix in a little PB2 for peanut butter flavor.

I'm going to try this. I mix cottage cheese with 1/4 cinnamon and I stevia packet. 3 drops vanilla extract. Mix together. If I have some crushed pecans I put a teaspoon on top.

Made this, but I used my blender to mix the cottage cheese, chocolate, and stevia together until smooth. Added a few fresh strawberries on too, then froze. It was awesome. Thanks for the idea.

I do this all the time! cottage cheese + cocoa is fabulous, I don't know why it seems so weird to everyone else... maybe cottage cheese is marketed differently in the US?
Here in Europe it's used pretty much the same as greek yogurt, so sweetening it makes perfect sense

Don't Philadelphia sell a chocolate cheese version? Not that it is low fat but clearly mixing soft cheese and chocolate is not an unusual concept. I'm all for trying a low fat version! Thanks for the tip.

Hmm well, I did that without the PB2 yesterday, and it wasn't bad, but I think you haven't had real treats for a while if you really think it's the most amazing thing ever. Plus for the calories, you could pretty much just eat a bit less of the real thing.

Do you put this is a blender? Seems like the texture would be odd without blending up the curds. What type of sweetener did you use? I'm only familiar with Splenda and 2 pkgs in 1/2 c of cottage cheese sounds way too sweet.

I do something similar with splenda sweetened yogurt, so it doesn't sound so bad to me. Tastes nothing like cheesecake, but it is tasty.

I tried it and did not like it, and I LOVE cottage cheese and cocoa individually.

However, I put cocoa and stevia in plain yogurt and THAT is amazingly good.

I prefer cottage cheese either plain, or with salt and pepper and a little paprika.

Considering I don't put nearly as much junk into my body as I used to, you're probably right. :) But I will say that even though I live in NY where Cheesecake is king, and even though I did have cheesecake (better than Cheesecake Factory) at my wedding - yes, it is the most amazing thing ever. I can eat an entire portion without guilt (Really, what's the fun in eating just a couple of bites of real cheesecake?) and yet still manage to lose weight in the process.

I have made this with ricotta and stevia (but preferably xylitol), and it's actually pretty good - still not cheesecake but good.
