Pinterest Detox

Just received an email from Pinterest about their "simple summer detox ideas." The email reads "We’re exposed to nasty toxins every day—air pollution, food additives, heavy metals (the list goes on). Do your body a favor and give it a deep cleaning this summer. Here are ten detox ideas that will make a big difference in how you look and feel. " And then goes on to provide links to Dr. Oz cleanses and detox water recipes.
Anyone else use pinterest and disappointed to see this in their inbox today?

I just saw a "14-day clean eating detox challenge" on Buzzfeed. There's no way I'm spending $350 for their "challenge" when I'm losing weight perfectly fine for a lot cheaper.
I hate to say this, but my generation is really stupid. If your kidneys and liver are functioning properly, there's no need for detoxing. What next? Are they going to start recommending colonoscopy prep as a detox tool?0 -

No!!! Our kidneys and liver take care of that, well.......unless you don't have any, then yeah.
That's exactly what I thought too. By putting out emails like this, they're only propagating the belief that drinking cinnamon or lemon water is necessary to "jump start weight loss" or rid the body of un-named "toxins" everyone seems to be worried about.
It's one thing when the pins are added by individual readers who don't better, but the emails they put out have an almost authority to them that are only going to back up people's claims when they're trying to legitimize cleanses.

Hmm, must have missed that one in my inbox. The one that annoys me most is I keep seeing one of their sponsored posts every five pins or so that says "Five foods you must NEVER eat!" Haven't bothered to click on it to find out what they are. Out of defiance, maybe I should find out, then work them all into my macros for the day.0

I saw this thread title and was thinking "Yeah, I need to detox from Pinterest occasionally myself."
I pay exactly zero attention to their marketing emails, but if I had noticed that email, I would have been irritated.0 -

I have been on a self imposed Pinterest detox for about 6 months now. I only go there if I am looking for a recipe or something I have already pinned... however, I am in desperate need of a new hairstyle and have an appointment tomorrow night so I may need to lift my ban for a day or so to get some ideas...

Ha! They're never what you think they are either. It's always something stupid like "non-organic strawberries" because oh noes! the pesticides!0 -

I wonder if they believe dihydrogen monoxide is toxic also.0 -

If you ingest too much of that, it is lethal.0 -

Uh-oh. I had a non-organic apple with my lunch today. If I see a tunnel, I'll make sure to stay away from the light.0 -

I have also been on one, unless I am doing a specific search for ideas. I pin way too much stuff that will never happen...DYI house projects, Craft projects, make my own body scrub/lip balm. I have better things to do with my time for the most part0 -

Unfortunately I gave up one online habit for another - I've been spending more time in the forums here...
At least Pinterest gave me some cool house ideas and travel worth destinations to peruse....

It IS... but like all the other toxinz - dosage matters.0 -

If we're getting technical, a teaspoon is enough to drown on if it goes down the wrong way haha.

Ha, yes, as much as I work out and move more now, I still sit on the couch and play on my computer at night. I need to do more of the projects around the house....I just don't.0 -
It's free speech advertising. Everyone does it with clothing, special rates on car repair/maintenance, phone rates, etc.
Caveat Emptor.
