Okay, ive lost nearly a stone and a half as of right now! I started at 13st (182lbs).

But these last few days I've felt kinda like I'm failing :/ I know it's in my mind and it probably hasn't helped that I maintained last weigh in but I feel like I'm gaining weight even though there is no reason why I would be! I am eating well (my diary is open) and working out but for some reason I feel frumpy! This time last week I was taking pictures excited that my stomach was flattening and now I find myself dodging the mirror again!

Does anyone else get like this I feel like I'm going crazy!

I go through those little ups and downs too. It can be a total mind game sometimes. You are definitely not alone.

I here you, I'm forever thinking that maybe someone is messing with my Scale and clothes ( I'm down 2 sizes) and I really haven't lost a pound!

Just had a look at your diary - you seem to be eating very very little, all the days logged are less than 1200! Are you super short? If not, perhaps you are feeling lethargic due to not fueling your body properly.

I get like that. I've always had body image problems, so sometimes it seems like nothing is ever good enough. I just breathe through it and they pass. These get less frequent with every pound I lose.

It is coming up to my TOM so that could be a factor I can't believe I didn't even think of that! Being a woman sucks sometimes,

catieraney, well my calorie goal set by MFP is 1200 so I make sure I stay under that and to be honest I eat three meals and two snacks a day and I just don't feel hungry enough to eat for the sake of meeting the 1200 calories exactly. I don't eat back my exercise calories because I know that more often that not they aren't very accurate and to be honest I have done it this way for the past 6 weeks and it's worked so I'm not sure what's going on!

Thanks everyone for your encouragement I love this site for that, I really hope it does pass soon because I liked the way I felt when I was proud of myself and I wanted to take pictures and look in the mirror and things!

    Xxx

Yup. I'm five pounds away from goal and some days I just feel blah. Hang in there! :)

"Frumpy" is a good word for it. I go through ups and downs mentally too. I stare at myself in the mirror, look at the flabby arms and jiggly uppercase "B" shaped belly and wonder to myself "what's the point?"

Well self, the point is that you weigh a lot less than you used to, your arms are several inches smaller and your "B" belly is closer to a lowercase "b' now. You've run (OK walked a lot) some 5ks, can do Zumba without dying, and can race your 8 year old to the school front while other parents and teachers say "I wish I had your energy!"

So, it takes a while, but sometimes you need to get yourself in line! Lovingly of course!

1200 calories is the minimum intake for women so going below that, especially with extra exercise, isn't great. It may balance out if you eat a lot over the weekend though, which is totally fine, just make sure you're getting those nutrients!

Also, ugh, TOM always stalls with my weight.

I feel more jiggly than before. I think I am burning fat and I am getting loose skin

MFP likely set it to 1200 because you told it you wanted to lose weight more quickly than is realistic for your body.

You're 22 years old, so your TDEE will be much higher than that of a much older woman. You also only have 22lbs left to lose.

Did you set MFP to want to lose 2lbs/week? If so, lower it to maximum 1lb/week. You're eating too little and it's not healthy or sustainable, and it's an excellent way to burn out.

Hey, thanks for your advice, I have never really looked into TDEE to be honest maybe that way would be more effective, I could change mfp to 1lb a week but it isn't that that I struggle with, I honestly don't feel hungry so I struggle to take in more calories to meet the allowance without just eating random snacks for the sake of it!

Ha Rogstar this post actually really make me chuckle! I'm so happy for you that you have a lower case b! You've highlighted to me that I need to be patient and recognise that I have made changes and I do look different! Thanks

If you wanted to eat more calories but you are full on your current diet, then simply switch out your fat-free options for the regular version. Have regular flora instead of the light kind (or real butter), have a full-fat yoghurt with your breakfast, real mayo in place of extra light etc. You could also tweak your cooking methods - add a little olive oil to those veggies, perhaps? Some vitamins in vegetables are actually absorbed better by your body when eaten with a small amount of fat so it could boost your nutrition, too.

    Exactly.

Fat is a necessary nutrient for body processes and fat soluble vitamin absorption. You don't need to restrict it, as much as you are, if you are within your calorie goal. You could stand to up your protein, as well, and use fat for cooking.
