Stomach fat loss/flattening/toning advice

Hello.
I am really sorry to bother you all but this is becoming an obsessive issue for me and I just want to finally solve it.

I workout six days a week - I run 5km in the morning at 13.6 kph and then walk to university and back again (uphill downhill 2.8 miles each way). I also weight train six days a week at least sometimes seven.
I have a vegetarian diet - but I'm clearly rating still too much because I have a large stomach and huge waist. I've cut out nuts and cut down my dairy but it still doesn't seem to change anything. I also do lots of varied stomach and core toning workouts six days a week - with and without weights. at least 30 reps of five different crunches/etc.
Should I just go on a calorie deficient diet? Like cut down 500 a day? I hate counting calories because I don't want to trigger my ED again but it frustrates me how my stomach is so large and pokes beyond my ribcage.
(Also I'm 5"1 and 23 years old)
Thank you

First of all, you have a beautiful stomach! I'd like to say that as women it is harder to put on muscle, but that's just general knowledge I've picked up. I do know for a fact that 500 calories is WAY below what you should be eating. A woman should be eating, at minimum, 1000 calories. If you want to cut more, please do so safely!

Well it sounds like you are pretty active and eat well. If I were you I would just schedule with a plastic surgeon for that last little bit of unsightly stomach fat.......

A woman generally needs at least 12,00 calories a day, not 1,000. And with as active as OP is, she will require more. But she was talking about a 500 calorie deficit, not eating 500 calories a day.

OP, check out this thread. Tons of good information and, if you have questions, usmcmp is very helpful and responsive.

ETA: I think you look great. It's not that your waist is large (far from it), but it looks like you're like me and you have narrow hips. Makes it hard to get that hourglass shape.

What you eat doesn't matter for weight loss but how much. Eating a vegetarian diet won't make your stomach flatter, just like me eating cakes won't make mine fatter. It all comes down to calories. In your case, since your stomach looks pretty good already, I suggest picking up a progressive lifting program. Crunches aren't super effective in achieving what you want, but compound lifts have been proven to target many areas including the belly. Also, if I focused on anything nutritionally it would be to make sure you eat enough protein/fats/carbs (whatever your macro split is, though I'm always keeping a close eye on my protein), and you can track your micros too if you so choose.

Take care of yourself though. I don't think you need to be in a calorie deficit according to your pictures. I think heavy lifting is your answer.

Thank you so much for a link to that thread - I definitely need to up my weights. I use it for arms, squats and crunches but I think I need to add a lot more into my routine. Thank you.
I used to have a lovely little 21 inch waist but since I've upped my excersize it's gone to 24 which is a pain. But I'm stronger now so I'm not sure if it's just muscle or weight gain

    LOL. No.

OP, the stomach fat will go away eventually if you keep maintaining a caloric deficit. I agree that heavy lifting is the answer though. In your place, I’d consider either a small caloric deficit (maybe 200 a day at most) and lift heavy weights, or better yet do a recomp (eat at maintenance while lifting heavy weights). Look into Starting Strength, Stronglifts, or Strong Curves - they’re great lifting programs.

Thank you, I think weights are the way to go. I don't eat things like cheese and I don't eat or drink processed food and drink so I think it's just down to excess raw that I'm gorging on. I seriously lack protein though - but when I started eating nuts I gained weight crazy fast. I wanted to go vegan but I think I need eggs for protein too much. Thank you again

I was being ironic. I don't think that she has stomach fat that needs to be sucked out. If anything she might need to see a psychiatrist about BDD. I'm pretty sure that if she starts lifting heavy she will be posting about how her arms are too big....

Oh sorry, I actually thought you were being serious. You seem to have familiarity with the OP that I do not, so I can’t comment on the latter. I love lifting heavy and having arms lol

P.S. OP, you really do look fantastic!
