Does tea, which I drink quite a lot of, count as the recommended water intake each day

    I disagree. Tea still has calories and sugar, etc. just like diet sodas. Water is water, anything else is a cheat. (This is just my personal opinion of it, no disrespect intended)

    Yes, it's almost entirely water so of course it counts. If you drink water with a meal your body doesn't get confused, and it doesn't get confused if your water has "something" in it. Fluids come from everything we eat and drink. As long as your urine is pale yellow, you're drinking enough.

    How do you drink your tea? Mine has almost no calories (OK, about 2-3 calories per 8 oz) and no sugar.

    Tea only has sugar if you add it... And minimal calories. Diet soda has no sugar... And minimal calories. It is still majority water, and hydrating you. If you eat a lot of fruit and vegies, they help keep you hydrated, but have more calories and sugar than a cup of tea....
