Protein vs Carb intake

Why does my body feel so full and overloaded when I eat protein rather than carbs. If I eat carbs, I can eat and eat and it like a bottomless pit. I tried to get more protein in my diary as of last week so for breakfast i have hard boiled eggs and a protein shake and by lunch time I am not even hungry. Any ideas on why this is?

protein tends to be more satiating than carbs. Also, if you are drinking a protein shake it will give you the illusion of feeling more full as the volume of the protein shake will make your stomach feel fuller. however, my issue with protein shakes is that I am then starving about an hour or two later, so I just eat actual food.

All of the above. Plus, your carbs probably don't contain much fiber. Fiber helps you feel full longer.
