Weird Combinations.

I had the hardest time getting my okra down tonight. It sounded better when I pulled the bag out of the freezer and while it was cooking. After about thirty minutes of it sitting on my plate, I had to do something to get it down. I was thinking maybe some hot sauce. Unfortunately, there was none in the fridge. So instead, I pulled out some mustard. And to my dismay, it was good. I even tried some pineapple mustard. That was even better.

So, how about it? Do you have any weird combinations you've tried on this journey? I'd love to hear some in case I get in a predicament like this again.

My sis-in-law uses ketchup on her tacos instead of salsa or hot sauce... that's always been a little weird to me. lol

I see a lot of people on here who have cottage cheese with fruit... being from the UK I think that's quite a strange combo! I can't think of any of my own, I'm quite boring when it comes to food...

I put fiber one cereal in my salads every day. I also put in my dinner sometimes - like chix rice n veggies with fiber one sprinkled on top. It has no sugar but it gives everything such a sweet taste and a great crunch.

I've always thought the cottage + fruit combo was weird and I live in the states

I eat my cottage cheese with just a hint of pepper and sometimes a dash of dried oregano.

I like ketchup with most stuff! Especially vegetables!

    'Weird' combinations I love:

    - cottage cheese topped with raisins, chopped red onion and Thousand Island dressing (don't knock it till you've tried it- my mom introduced me to it and it's incredible!)
    - cottage cheese with banana and granola
    - BBQ sauce and hummus- I bake tofu in BBQ sauce and make it into sandwiches with red pepper hummus...amazing
    - chickpeas, cottage cheese and Ranch seasoning
    - fruit on salads- grapes, pineapple...anything goes
    - baked sweet potato with almond butter
    - grilled chicken with tzatziki (and ketchup!)
    - tuna with salsa
    - pumpkin butter or jam with Laughing Cow cheese on pancakes (I make protein pancakes then use them as 'bread' for sandwiches on-the-go!)

    Now I am hungry...

    My favorite concoction is:

SF choolate pudding sprinkled with a light sprinkling of kosher salt and cayenne pepper. (sweet, salty, spicy!)

Save this for a 'cheat day', but spread some creamy peanut butter on a hot dog.

    DO IT! Thank me later.

I never got the french fries dipped in Frosties/ice cream... all my friends in HS raved about it, I tried it... not impressed. I don't get it.

Back in undergrad someone introduced me to baby carrots with yellow mustard. Better for you than ranch I suppose. I used to do my nachos with a katsup and mustard mixed together instead of cheese. And for some reason I like popcorn dipped in sour cream...that last one is not too healthy. Haha.

The fries/ice cream thing I thought only worked with Wendy's fries + frosty but since they changed the frosty formula and totally changed fries it's so gross!

That used to be a weakness of mine. I would always order fries to dip in my frosty. One reason I must've gained more weight. lol

Chocolate covered bacon! This sounds weird but it's the perfect salty-sweet combo. It's also a "cheat" food--not something I have more than once a year! lol

Applesauce on pizza..... And as a bonus, it cools it down so you don't burn the roof of your mouth

Also, ketchup mixed in w/ mac & cheese...Usually have a hot dog with it, so the ketchup "conveniently" mixes in.

Haha, I ate peanut butter on a chicken nugget the other day. It was unusual and good.

Old Bay crab seasoning.... on EVERYTHING!!! Popcorn, chicken, salad, eggs (scrambled, hard boiled, soft boiled, poached), any steamed veggie, steak, etc. It's salty and spicy... SO high in sodium though -- but I don't care! Let my feet swell up befoer you take away my Old Bay. I'm still trying to find a dessert that it will work with, but no luck so far. Years ago, I called McCormick's Spice Company, but they finally said to stop calling (they thought I was a crank).

I know Braum's aren't everywhere in the US, I really think only around here, but I hated Frosties and french fries.... but a Braum's chocolate milkshake and their fries, holy **** those are AWESOME.
