I am constantly hearing that some fruits will make you gain and cheap veggies/fruits are dangerous to eat to much of or I will just here the complete opposite, i don't know whats true anymore very confused and I really don't have a lot of money to go organic. What foods should I definitely stay away from?

Foods are not inherently bad. Too much of anything will make you gain weight but that is because you are eating more calories than your body needs.

Eat nutritously, have some of your favorite foods, but stay within your calorie goal and you'll lose.

No need to avoid anything. Some people claim that trans fats should be avoided, but honestly I wouldn't sweat those details.

Organic is not necessary, and may not even be beneficial.

No food will make you gain weight unless eating it leads to a calorie surplus. Eat what you like and can afford. Eat plenty of veggies and fruit.

I think the common error that budget eaters fall for is purchasing lots of breads and carbohydrate-filled foods over vegetables. Yes, they are cheaper, but we are all aware that eating just carbohydrates will make us devoid of energy and nutrients, and will make us gain weight in the long run.

My personal suggestion is to purchase cheaper foods that you like. My favourites are bananas, spinach, kale, onions, and potatoes. I also purchase berries and other fruits when they're in season, or on sale.

For carbs, I stick with rice and vermicelli (I have a weakness for asian foods and recipes).

The best rule is to eat what you like best, but keep it balanced. Too much of anything is a bad thing.

I avoid chicken too because it gets boring real fast. Buy some ground beef, bologna, bacon, hot dogs, cheese, beans, tuna. Also some frozen or canned veggies like broccoli, green beans, peas, corn.

Lean meats= lean ground beef (check the package), turkey, chicken, pork with "loin" or "leg" in the name, beef with "loin" or "round" in the name.
