My journey has begun, question is can I muster the energy to continue?

Its summer and I have so much free time to work towards my number 1 goal... losing weight. Thus far, on a change of diet alone, I've lost 10 lbs! (YAY happy dance) However for some odd reason I just don't feel excited or motivated to actually get up and into hardcore workouts. I think I need a bit of encouragement to get in that fat fighting mood. :( And some active friends on here wouldn't be too bad either. :)

Way to go on the loss!! Sometimes it takes a while to get that ENTHUSIASM!! Best thing to do is not to dive into too much! Just make small changes...exercise a little more each day instead of going at it gung ho :)

Awesome job so far! Definitely start small and work your way into it. I'd say try some free work out videos on YouTube, and see what works for you. I think that's important, finding a routine that pushes you but not to the point that you hate it. That way you can gradually progress when you're ready to.

I don't exercise. On a good day I do lots of laundry, which means 2 flights of stairs for every load. Sometimes I walk to the store. I've lost 5 pounds a month since January 2nd. I'm going to start exercising when I reach my goal. I know I'm lazy but it's still working. But if you want to work out you should. And if you do will you friend me and tell me how you did it? I could use the motivation too.

This is a great quote. For me, I had to read it a couple of times to let it really sink in.
'Maybe the journey isn't so much about becoming anything.
Maybe its unbecoming everything that isn't you,
so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place."

here is another one...(great for the frig)
Take the focus off how losing weight is going to make you look. Instead put it on how losing weight will help you improve your life.

last motto, and this one I have in my kitchen and read aloud when I want to just grab crappy food.

Take pleasure in persevering: That is what separates those who keep pushing forward from those who throw in the towel!

I read this somewhere. When you go into the bathroom, look yourself in the eyes and say out loud. " I love you, you're awesome. You're doing great. Keep it up."

Also looking at yourself nude after a shower is a positive thing. Don't look at what you want changed, look at the parts you like. Its a great positive self-image practice :-)

Of course, friending you as we speak! I have decided on getting back to working out. If truly want to reach my goals there's no wayyy I can if I don't work out frequently.

That quote really hits home. It makes more sense than trying to change yourself; it's about being your true self. And that's really what my whole journey is all about. I too often feel like I've been put into the wrong body, while the real me is running marathons and hiking up mountains. Lol

Just added! Thank you, going it alone only makes it that much harder.

Thanks! It definitely does but at the end if the day I always tell myself instead of just thinking about it go do something. At first the idea of working out sucks but once you make a habit of it, it kinda starts getting fun! And when you don't work out you feel like some things is missing. But I'll definitely take it slow.

Thank you! I've actually found quite a few good exercise channels on YouTube. The most high impact one is Insanity, I've tried it it's pretty challenging. But you definitely get results!

Sign up for something like a 5k so you have a goal. You don't have to run it all if you don't want to but you have to exercise so that you can build up endurance and maybe you will be able to run to whole thing.
