Build Muscle mass while staying lean

I workout 6 days a week, I started using Combat Protien Powder today. My goal is to build more muscle mass while maintaining my abs/staying lean.

    Seems idealistic but it's pretty difficult. You bulk or you cut. Pick one. You can clean bulk and reduce the amount of excess weight you gain but you need tons of food to make gains...which of course makes abs not as lean.

    How you divide up your workouts. Like, back day, legs day, chest day; push/pull/legs; one big exercise plus accessory work each day; etc.

    Monday- Abs, push-ups, pull-ups (calisthenics)& back
    Tuesday- biceps & chest
    Wednesday- rest day
    Thursday- triceps & shoulders
    Friday- Calisthenics & back
    Saturday- biceps & chest
    Sunday- triceps & shoulders

    I know I train a lot of arms, that's because I go XC and track so I was super skinny with like no muscle, and my arms were basically skin and bones so I'm really focusing on adding muscle mass to them

    You can make lean gains using carb cycling. Scooby's workshop has a pretty decent article on his website. I used it last year to prep for a bikini comp. I did manage to grow my shoulders and butt while staying lean/leaning out.

    I have track and cross country practices 5 days a week. That's my leg days

    You'll do better gaining muscle if you train compound movements, squats, deadlifts, lunges, press, rows, pull-ups. Many good trainers will tell you not to do bicep isolation work until you can do 8-10 legit pull ups.

    Agree on the compound movements. I do them first thing in a workout before going on to isolation work. So many people don't like training legs...I love training them. I lose my abs when I'm trying to build more muscle, as that requires more calories but they show up again when I lean out. They come and go.

    If you are doing cross country, and not lifting with legs, its gonna be tough to add mass. And, some might argue that adding mass might not be ideal for a cross country athlete. I think you need to clarify more on what your actual goals are, and why.
