Okay, so i know i shouldn't weigh daily, but I cant help it
So here is some background.
Its been a month and I am eating healthy around 1400 cals and i weigh everything i eat. I exercise moderately, usually walk and play badminton for half an hour.
So yesterday I weighed 95.5 kilos, the only thing different i did yesterday was i tried to run a bit and i ate one roti, i was over my budget by 200 cals, and today i weigh 96.5 kilos
What i dont understand is how?

Water retention.0

You weight will fluctuate daily up and down however if you follow the plan over the long term it will decrease. I am a guy and if I do it daily I can see a 2lb increase sometimes with no real reason. Remember also woman will retain more water at their period.0

There's nothing wrong with weighing everyday, lots of people do. I'd hate to weigh any less often.
Weight fluctuates, this is completely normal and happens to everyone.0 -
its amazing that its taken 4 weeks for your weight to fluctuate up!0

I've "gained" up to seven pounds from one day to the next.

yes, of course it has, or you would have posted saying you hadn't lost weight... but weight fluctuates both up and down, that was my point.0 -
it is not a glitch it is water retention + daily fluctuation.
stop weighing daily and you will not have this "glitch"…

It wasn't the roti. This is the hazard of weighing daily. You'll blame a temporary fluctuation on the last thing you did.0

I agree it wasn't the roti, the OP also said she tried running for the first time. That is probably the reason for the water retention. Whenever I add a new exercise, or do a regular one at a higher intensity, I retain water for a few days. The more intense the workout was (especially if I end up sore from it) the more water retained.0 -
There's nothing wrong with weighing daily. You will need to learn to ignore the small spikes if you do. Personally, I would rather see the fluctuations. This way I'm not waiting a week between weigh-ins and wondering what's going on the entire week. Perhaps when I'm maintaining I'll weigh weekly.0

This^^
It's normal
I weigh most days in order to track fluctuations
This is my normal over 3 months ...black dots are actual weigh ins...this is during eating at maintenance ...water weight!

Agree...weighing daily isn't itself the problem.
You just have to be able to not let the daily fluctuations play mind games with you and focus your analysis on the long term trend.
If you can't get over that mental hurdle, THEN daily weighing probably isn't the best option.0
