Hi all,

I'm thinking of buying a Fitbit - perhaps this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fitbit-Charge-Wireless-Activity-Wristband/dp/B00OVTAG9G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1433163946&sr=8-1&keywords=fitbit

can anyone tell me if this is a good price, also how do I know whether to get small or large? I am female but with a broad-ish wrist?

TIA...

Fitbit has a size guide on their website. However, if your wrists are 6" or bigger, get the large. My wrists are just under 6" and to wear the Surge where it's loose enough not to get a rash, I have to put it on the 3rd to last notch. Anyway, Fitbit says the Large band should fit 6.5" to 7.7" wrists.

On the Fitbit website you will find the sizing tool for the Fitbit you want to purchase. Here is the link to the sizing chart for the one you are thinking of buying - https://www.fitbit.com/content/assets/charge/charge_sizing_guide.pdf

Another question - are they much more accurate than logging activity via MFP?

I lost the weight & have maintained for almost a year using Fitbit + MFP. You can't get much more accurate than that.

You can learn more in the Fitbit Users group: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1290-fitbit-users

The Charge HR is only £20 more than the Charge, but it has a secure buckle (like a watch) and a heart rate monitor (HRM).

I upgraded from a Flex, which has a clasp like the Charge, because it fell off several times.

As long as you enter you height/weight/age/stride lenght on FitBit it's about 1,000,000x more accurate. MFP burns are notoriously too high.

I'd Also recommend the Charge HR over the Charge. Not only for the extra feature of knowing your heart rate but the clasp is so much better!
