I just bought some because it looked interesting, and it is AMAZING! for 30 calories it kicks butter's butt!
~Perfect snack for sweet/salty/carb craving~
20 hanover mini twists.
1 1/4 tbs apple butter all for about 145 calories! SUPER filling!

    It's also great on a peanut butter & banana sandwich, on a waffle, on pancakes, on muffins... on a cracker with bleu cheese... mmm... love me some apple butter. I don't really think of it as a replacement for butter, though.

    It's super easy to make in a crock pot... and it makes the house smell fabulous!

    I love apple butter! I have a recipe for Apple Butter Chicken


    4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves

    1/3 c apple butter

    2 TBL salsa

    2 TBL ketchup

    1 TBL veg oil

    1/4 tsp garlic powder

    2 drops worcestershire sauce

    2 drops liquid smoke (optional)
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Place chicken is greased 8in square baking dish. Combine remaining ingredients, pour over chicken Bake uncovered @375 for 25 minutes or meat juice runs clear.

    LOL. Yeah. Special people. ;)

    Actually, the 4H club around here makes huge batches and sells it for fundraising. Lots of school projects revolve around apple butter, too... but of course, I'm in the middle of apple orchard country.

    It's really simple... just throw in a bunch of apple chunks, some cinnamon, nutmeg, whatever... and a little sugar if you like. Cook it all day long until it turns to apple butter.
