It's hard for me to eat?

I've been logging my food and exercise for the past two weeks, and I've lost five pounds so far. (Yay!)
Left to my own devices, I only take in 500 calories a day, average. I upped my calories to 1100 (goal is 1400 but that's impossible!) But I'm starting to suffer burnout already. I just don't eat like "normal people". I'm practically exhausted from having to eat all the time. I'm not used to it, and today I've been up since 7AM and it's now 1PM - I've only had a granola bar (120 cal), and I'm not hungry but I have to eat.
Can anyone else relate? Nobody gets it. People I'm working with also keep commenting that I'm eating a ton, and I should back off because I'm supposed to lowery caloric intake to lose weight. But how am I supposed to get lower than 500?! That's not logical.
I just don't like eating all the time.

Eat more calorie dense items.
Long term, 500 isn't good.
You're depriving yourself of vital macroµnutrients.
Drink your calories if you need too.
Make a smoothie with yogurt, fruits, veggies, nut butters, etc.

Maybe smoothies will work. I've been really good about keeping my macros in order and eating the right things, but it just is hard for me to eat so much.0

Unless you have a medical condition, you ate over your maintenance calories to gain weight.
So at some point, you've been able to eat far more than the 500 you're currently eating.

If you've been a meal skipper it's tough to get your calorie count up there without working at it. I pretty much eat all day now because I can't do large amounts of food at once. Things that have helped me were to drink some calories, have a glass of milk, some juice even a latte if you like them. Try making smoothies, you can pack a lot of calories in there and slowly sip on them. I usually do frozen berries, banana, greek yogurt and a splash of milk. You can also do chocolate, peanut butter and banana which is fantastic and the for the chocolate you can either go cocoa powder, syrup or protein powder, all will work or heck a packet of instant breakfast.

I can not relate directly, but my daughter struggles with this problem. She ended up underweight because she will barely eat sometimes. It is very hard to eat more. I bought her protein powder and she made herself smoothies to help compensate.
Drink a glass of milk with your granola bar next time?
I would also tell the people at work that you are trying to eat healthy because you have a tendency to under eat that really isn't good for you. Even get a little passive aggressive with it and say "you did want me to be healthy right? not anorexic?"0 -

I'm on steroids. So yes I have a medical condition.0 -

Then you need to force yourself to eat more.
By not eating your bodys needs (basal metabolic rate [BMR] - the calories needed just to survive) you risk muscle loss, including damage to your heart.
So I'd get some protein powder and stat chugging some smoothies0 -

My mom used to buy me instant-drink breakfasts because I wouldn't eat as a teenager. It's been that way for me for a long time. I wouldn't eat lunch at school often either. I'm not a picky eater, I just skip meals a lot and I'm not sure why.
Problem is (I think?!) Anytime I eat anything with fat in it, it sticks because I don't eat hardly anything. Plus steroids.0 -
I would talk to your doctor about the steroids. MOST people experience increased hunger when on steroids but I know when I had to take them for an injury I had absolutely NO appetite and I had to force myself to eat just to take the pills. Maybe your doctor could change the brand or dosage or something to bring your appetite back? I would also look into smoothies and shakes to ensure you're getting enough nutrients. 500 calories long term is not healthy and can cause a lot of problems that have been touched on above. If you increase the calorie dense foods such as adding nut butters and things like avocado and whole fat milk etc that'll make your calories jump without having to eat and huge amount of food.0
