I'm trying so hard to lose weight, I eat salad for lunch, I ony drink water and green tea and have a good balanced diet apart from a few guilty snacks. I'm three stone away from my goal weight, go to the gym 4 days a week and in two months have only lost 4 pounds. Someone help please! I'm fed up of being a fatty :(

    Hi,
What are your stats (ie. Height, current weight)? What is your daily calorie goal? It doesn't really matter that your eating a salad for lunch..do you know exactly how many calories your eating? How are weighing your food and liquids?

You say nothing about counting calories, that's what's important, not eating salad or drinking green tea. Maybe open your diary so we can have a look.

Unless you have a medical problem, you simply must be eating more than you think. You may only eat salad for lunch, but what do you have in that salad? And what about your other meals? Do you weigh all your food and log honestly?

I'm 5'4" and weight 12.8 stone, 1500 calories a day and I log honestly and normally come in at an average of 1400 calories a day. I normally have salad with sweetcorn, chicken, sometimes quorn, with pepper and cucumber. I don't have much control when it comes to my evening meal because I still live with my family but we don't eat badly in the evening, normally pasta or chicken. I don't eat red meat or takeaways either

A salad isn't always low-cal. Definitely use a digital food scale that weighs in grams and log everything you eat and drink. Personally, just logging isn't enough for me. I have to pre-log in order to hit my calories and macros.

your talking to much about what you eat. Who cares. It is more important to be talking about how much you eat.

Do you weigh all of this?

Start logging and weighing everything- EVERYTHING. And then if you're not losing weight see your doctor.

If you are going to ask for help and advice, the first thing you will need to do is open up your diary.
Then people can see what you have or haven't been logging. If you aren't losing weight then it probably down to the simple fact that you are eating more than you think you are.
Also 0.5lbs per week, which would be 4 lbs in 2 months is sustainable weight loss.

If you're accurately logging everything else but can't accurately log dinner because you're not making it, you'll have to leave more calories available for dinner (so eat less the rest of the day) or have less at dinner.

    Can you open your diary?

Sorry if it seems like everyone is piling on. :) Most of us just posted all at the same time.

What CoachJen said, lots of posts all at the same time, not a mass of "your doing it wrong". Also, there really isn't a doing it wrong. There is starting to do it, learning how to do it a bit better and then continually learning how to improve on what you were doing before.

Being 100% honest, you are losing weight and you are losing it at what is "generally" considered as sustainable rate. While that may not be as quick as you like, it is still good solid progress.
