Hello my MFP friends,
Going out to dinner tonite and am looking for advice on what to order. Getting tired of ordering salmon ... Would love to hear other ideas :-).

I would get the Red Reuben.

I would probably get crab cakes.0

So many choices. it would depend on what my calorie count was at for days leading up to this.0
-
Crab cakes for me0
-
steak!0

love this menu!! I would probably get the veggie burger ~ I love them! Or the crab cakes, love these too!! But yes, depends on what you have left for your calories0
-
Depends on your goals but I would skip the fried foods and go with the steak and a healthy side and be sure to ask them to not use butter when they prep the food and leave any dressings or sauces on the side.0
-
I would probably just cancel the date.0

Girl, get what you want...it's date night! That being said, I would probably order either the shrimp stir fry or the Bistro seafood plate. But, oh my...a portobello burger...mmm....0
-
The honey chicken sandwich sounds uberdelish.0

Please for the love of all things holy, do not order crab cakes at an irish bar in NJ. I live in NJ would rather cook them for you myself...I promise they are better.

Pub burger or Dublin steak sandwich.0

Dublin steak sandwich for the win!0
-
When I still ate meat, New York strip was one of my favorites.0
-
Pork chops FTW0

Great ideas guys!
So my daily calorie count is 1600 and I've been at or within a few calories all week and for past several weeks as well.
Breakfast and lunch are adding up to about 600 calories today, so saving up for dinner
Was looking at the Red Rubin since it's a signature dish there, but no idea how to log it or figure out calories. Any ideas? Would love your help figuring out how to log it!
Portobella burger looks good, too...
Thanks! Jean
PS. Edwardshar, LOL, no way I'm cancelling0 -
I think the Open Face PJ Leanburger sounds wonderful! Less bread = less calories, it's a lean cut steak, and 6 oz is a perfect portion! Plus some greens on the side! Mmmm0
-
I'll have five Irish Coffee's and a small salad.0
-
Hahahaha! Big Guy that is quite a fun idea0
-
Bistro seafood sounds good to me. Crab cakes sound good too, though maybe sub the fries.0
-
Fish and chips! Now i'm hungry!!0
-
I didn't look but if there's steak, that's what I would get. I've been complaining about having low iron and am too lazy to cook my own.0

in all honesty, don't worry too much about the calories and just guestimate as best you can. Go out, enjoy the dinner and have fun. You can compensate tomorrow by eating a tad less, if you want to.
Part of the lifestyle change is learning that you are not going to be 100% accurate with your logging all the time and realizing that is OK.

I agree! If I were out with friends, I eat what I want, log it in, then compensate for the next few days. :-)0 -
