If your planning on losing weight. Then use Impact diet whey protein powder. I use Myprotein.com and i have lost a total of 3 stone 3 pounds and I feel this diet protein shake each morning has helped with my weight loss. I am soon going to change to the none diet whey protein as I am now toning and gaining muscle.

There is no such thing as "diet protein". Whey protein is whey protein. You can get mass gainers, but these include a whole pile of other non-protein ingredients.

Protein powder doesn't help you lose weight. If you were replacing a normal breakfast with a protein shake, you were likely losing weight from the lower caloric value of the shake. Protein powder is just a way to supplement your protien intake if you can't eat enough food.

OP, if you really need a protein powder, try doing a search - there are many threads with heaps of suggestions and recommendations. You might find one that suits your needs

You probably do not need one. Yet.

How long have you been training? I started using a soya protein after 3/4 months of training once my nutrition was fairly healthy compared to previous. I only use it after workouts and the day after when my muscles are healing, I also use it img I have a veggie or low carb day. What were your reasons for wanting to use one?

Because I hear so much talk about them. I am looking for something to help suppress my appetite.

Just as an FYI protein powder is not an appetite suppressant. It still has calories and many people find they can meet their protein goals without using it.

I have lived on smoothies for breakfast most of my life being that I don't like pancakes or oatmeal and it takes me a while to feel hungry in the AM anyway. When protein powder became mainstream, I jumped on the band wagon and have tried many kinds.

My favorite thing about it is that it helps me feel fuller in the morning. 2ndly, I like the fact that it packs so many vitamins/minerals/nutrients in it. Of course, you need the right PP or you will be mixing a witch's potion of powders in the morning. (I sit once a month to measure out my: Protein powder, Chia seeds, Sesame seeds, Goji powder, Acai powder, cinnamon , Cacao nibs, Hemp, Flax, Powdered Calcium, Vitamin D, Maca, Beets, carrots, pomegranate powder, tart cherry. I bag them and they stay in the fridge until I need them. Just add water and yogurt!)

I should have my Hemp Protein Powder soon from Amazon. Just finished up my whey and have some spirutein at home too.

I like brown rice protein and whey powder. I found a whey powder in the baking section of Whole Foods with nothing but whey in it. I don't like all the vitamin additives most of them have.

I'd recommend Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey. 19 gorgeous tasting flavors, high protein, low fat, low carbs, excellent quality. Its the only brand i'll use.

I started using whey protein powder because I was having a hard time hitting my recommended protein macro. I buy fresh berries and freeze them and make fruit smoothies with a scoop of whey protein. I also sometimes add half of a banana or some cantaloupe or mango. Makes a very yummy lunch, especially refreshing in summer. I tried a number of them and my favorite so far is here:

Use code VETTAB4 at checkout for extra $5 off (worked yesterday for me).

Don't buy brands that market gender. Protein powder is not gender specific.

Stick with the big brands on Bodybuilding.com or Getrippednutrition.com - These are sites that are actually devoted to people living an active lifestyle. And they don't rip you off or sell you bogus whey.

Something worth noting is that these obscure brands that don't sell all that well either have inferior ingredient profiles or taste like crap. Sometimes both.
