Baristas (maybe bartenders?) need your help!

I am a barista and I worked 6 hours today, on my feet all day except for a 25 minute break. I don't have a watch to keep my calories yet and I can't use my phone on the job, so I was wondering if anyone themselves had a general idea how many calories are burned during a job like this?

Thank you!

I would just set your activity level on MFP accordingly. If it's daily activity you probably shouldn't log it separately from your MFP settings....

If you have your activity level set according to your daily routine at work etc, then you wouldn't want to log it separately each day. Your calorie goal is determined by how you select your activity level, so it like double logging if you also add it in each day.

I'm a barista working 32.5 hours every week [breaks taken out]. my activity level is set to be "lightly active". I don't count work calorie burn, because that's just part of my life. the only exercise I count is what I do in addition to it - runs, lifting, etc.

That was my point. If you're activity level is set correctly then you wouldn't log it.

    What she said.

Go to settings>Update Your Diet Profile; select active.

    That should help you out.

Just have your MFP as active person. That's what I used to do. I wouldn't count my calories burn at work. I would only count my workout calories. You busy is use to being walking and being on you feet for those hours.

I wore a pedometer when I was a barista, and I didn't take as many steps as I thought I would in a six hour shift.

I now do construction and actually burn way more calories. But I still don't count that as exercise.

6 hour shifts on your feet as a barista won't necessarily make you "active", unless you are quite active outside of your job as well.

Bartender here, but I work 11 hour shifts of hard core moving. But it really depends on how far you have to walk back and forth.
Before I had my Misfit Shine to count my calories, I had my activity level set to highly active and ate all of the calories it allowed me and still lost more quickly than mfp said I would. I struggled with it because I did those shift 3-4 days a week and was pretty lazy on my days off. So I agree you should probably be set to lightly active or active.
These days I am set to lightly active which matches my BMR and let the Shine decide how much more I can eat based on how much more I moved. Much more honest.
