I have a 6 month old daughter. I ride my stationary bike after I get her to bed at night. I've also started to take her on walks around 6-7 at night when it's cooler.
I'd like to start doing stuff other than cardio but idk where to start/what to do... My main issue is the "baby pooch" left from having her. I also have some extra thigh and upper arm fat i gained from her that I'd like to get to of

Do you have access to a gym?
If not, I suggest:- Fitnessblender.com (free workout videos)
- Searching youtube for workouts (maybe the bikini body mommy videos for example)
- Workout videos (like X-TrainFit at Home or XTFMax or 30 Day Shred...well you get the point)
^That combined with taking walks with my boys (3 yrs and 1 yr) is what I did until I had access to a gym.
Now I do:- Ice Cream Fitness 5x5 (weight lifting)
- Zombies,Run! or Zombies,Run!5k
- Anything I listed above when I can't make it to the gym or just want to get an extra workout in.

I started Bikini Body Mommy this week. It's a good workout, short and perfect for after your baby goes to bed or when she is napping.0

Iv got a 15 month old and he keeps me busy. It's hard to work out and to wait until he goes to bed because I am exausted. But I have start cracking down. I went on pintrest and found several work out plans that I felt would work out best for me. I do 5 of them every night and in the mornings on weekends. I'm also trying to find active actvivites to do that are fun but it is very hard with a baby. Total it is about 30 mins to do all of them0

Congratulations on your baby! A home workout that I like a lot is Leslie sansone walk away the pounds. This is something I could even do while changing a diaper! Check it out on you tube. The workout is much more information effective and interesting than it sounds.0

I would suggest buying a few kettlebells. Go to your local sporting goods store, and try out the different weights. Anywhere between 15-25lbs to start. From there you can do a multitude of different exercises that will burn fat and develop muscle. Swings, Squats, Presses, Ribbons, Get-ups. I'm sure you can find a good routine just by youtubing "kettlebell workout"0

I have 4 kids my oldest is 12 my youngest is now 5. I found it easy to work out with mine at each stage of their lives.
Newborn-taking them in a stroller so I can walk/run
Baby/toddler-as weights (they loved it); try to mimick their movements while I'm playing with them and keep up (not as easy as it sounds lol)
Young child-play with them often(run, jump, catch, swim, etc); they can focus enough to try yoga with you and like the weird poses!
Older child-can workout with you (yoga, jogging, biking, weights, etc)
I always loved the bonding part of actually engaging in their fun play and they see you being active.0 -
I'm in for the info - my daughter is nearly 10 weeks now0

Some ideas:
YMCA'a usually take babies as young as yours, if you have one around you.
Walking w baby in stroller or carrier.
XBOX fitness: zumba. I also was doing the lifting program New Rules of Lifting for Women at home with dumbbells. Trade with a friend and take turns watching babies while you exercise.
These are all things I've done, you have to be creative and find what you enjoy and what works for you. Also look up bodyweight exercises that you can do at home or at the park when your baby get older.0 -
I try to walk a lot. Some days I log 18km of walking without even leaving my yard lol. I like the fitnessblender.com videos, and insanity videos if I have the energy. I just got an elliptical to use when my boys are napping/watching t.v. I also do pushups, bicycle crunches, side leg raises, and butt lifts right before bed (usually 30 of each).0
