Sorry ladies, that there isn't much to this challenge. i did alot of copying from last challenge. Ive just been so busy and tired. On top of the business, my knee popped out on me again while i was away over the weekend.. Not cool. I hate it. My photography is starting to pick up, so its making it harder for me to sit down and find things for the challenges.. Im going to try to start getting a head start on them, we will see how that works. Have a great week.. well two weeks. Ill be around when I can.
Until next time,

April... once again, a huge THANK YOU for the time you put in for all of us! :flowerforyou:
Pink: Well, I've lost 60# now... and still, boobs! LOL But maybe it makes a difference that I had a reduction 10+ years ago. Am still big though. (I can SO relate to your bra sizes!!) After I had lost 170#, I didn't like them dragging on the floor... so had the surgery. SO glad I did! I love that they are still "perky"!! :bigsmile:0 -
Thanks again April for some challenging challenges!!!! I'm doing good on my miles as you can see, but the others are tough for me! Water is never a problem.. sodium can be.
Hope you all have a great day! Monday is a long day at work for me, so I'm pooped... talk atcha later!0 -
Thanks for the fabulous challenges April!!!!!
We had some stomach sickies here over the weekend. My tummy only hurt and I felt nausea, thankfully. But when I tried to do my 25 minute run on Saturday I felt like I was going to puke after about 10 minutes. I made it to 15 minutes then walked for a little bit and tried to start running again. I immediately felt sick and light headed, so I walked the rest of the way home. Life at my house is insanely crazy right now, so I have decided to work myself up to longer runs more gradually. This week I will continue with walk 5, run 10, walk 5, run 10, walk 5. Then next week I will up my runs a bit. I really think that the 5K is out of the question right now and I may wait to do my first one with Crystal on Thanksgiving. We are going to spend Thanksgiving with them and she mentioned a Turkey trot in her town.......... :glasses:
I am on a bit of a plateau right now. :ohwell: I am feeling okay with that right now. I am SO close to goal that I can smell it though! I would love to lose an extra few for cushion too though. I have been shaking things up a bit and I am hoping to see the results of that on the scale next week. I am an every day weigher to keep me on track and I have seen 157.5 a couple of times, but not on weigh-in day. :ohwell: I have been holding steady at 158 for a few weeks now.
Have a fabulous week EXPLODING those pounds my fine friends!!!!!!!!0 -

I was down to 156 this morning!!!!!!!!!
I had one kiddo throwing up on Saturday night/Sunday. In the middle of the night last night three more kids started. :ohwell: I am REALLY hoping that mommy, daddy and baby escape it! :noway: I don't want to lose weight that way!0 -
Thank you for the great challenge again, April. You always do such a great job.
We had a great time in FL and I was SO happy this morning for my weigh-in and I was down 2.6 lbs! I have decided that I probably wasn't eating enough calories, because I was NOT at ALL careful, or watching my calories over the weekend and I felt GREAT! We went to Outback and a Bar-B-Q place while we were there and I sure didn't get salads. I didn't over do it, but I didn't just go light either and I felt super the whole time. I had been at a stall before I left and even gained a bit, so I'm wondering if maybe me trying to do less calories was not a great idea for me - I don't know.
Anyway, we have a family reunion coming up this weekend and I really hope that they have some kind of internet access, but I'm not sure.
I really need/want to get back into P90X very soon and like Mandy mentioned, I need to start working on that Turkey Trot coming up. Advise on where to start????
I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!!!! Keep up the good work, Ladies! :flowerforyou:0 -

Glad you had a good time! And losing weight as well!! YAY! I hope I am as lucky when I go on my vacation in June!
My daughter is getting married on Sunday and I refuse to count calories while I am in San Diego this weekend. I am just gonna take in the moments.
THEN... I have 2 weeks back on program before I leave for Ohio! SO looking forward to that. Love, love, love seeing friends I grew up with. Just me - all by myself. A MUCH needed break that I now do annually. Being "the mom" on a daily basis is hard work!! (as many of you know!) I look forward to just being ME for a week!! PLUS... I am 60# less than I was when I saw everybody last year!! :bigsmile:0 -
Sounds like you ladies are doing great.. im at a stand still right now.. my knee is killing me from when it popped out on me on Friday.. Then yesterday morning, I was getting up from my chair, and my back popped.. I nursed it and went to work for half my shift last night. Came home, and made dinner, laid down and an hour later i could barely move. My husband took me to the hospital at 12am.. it sucked.. It still hurts but not as bad,, just got one taking muscle relaxers.. hoping it helps.0

Ok, I have one word for you for the Turkey Trot... C25K!!!! It's truly the one thing that changed my life! Google it.. you won't be sorry! I used the Podrunner Intervals podcasts that you can download on iTunes, but you can do it with your own music if you want. I like the podcasts because they are all mapped out for you and even give you the tempos and all you need. The music isn't my taste, but it does keep you pumping!0 -
Just my Tuesday check in... crazy busy day!!! But I was able to get in my 2 miles before Biggest Loser... it's starting now, so I'm going to make this brief!
Hope you're all having a great Tuesday! The weather here was absolutely perfect... I wish it would stick around! Thinking of taking the kids camping Friday with some friends, still not sure... but it's a crazy week, so I need to make up my mind!!!
LOL! Have a great night...0 -
My dear friends...I have not been hanging around too much. Mom in law in rehab now and wanting to give up. She thinks she has lived a good life and doesn't want to try. So, I have been a bit stressed. I know she can do it but she doesnt have the will. Plus, last Friday, I hurt my right shoulder taking care of a patient...guess my reach isn't as long as I thought. So I have a rotator cuff strain...on light duty at work, totally freakin boring. So, I am not in a good frame of mind.
I will continue to check in and keep you updated...please say a little prayer that she gets her ooomph back.
Love to all,
Linda0 -
Signing up for the week - phew. I was out of town on a business trip and am just starting to go through all my stuff. I did weigh in on Monday, so Ill post in the morning Hope everyone else is having better results than me after that trip!!0
-
AprilVal - Your poor knee. Hope that thing heals up completely soon and stops giving you troble. And now your back too?! You gotta stop hurting yourself, lady! I'm so glad to hear your photography is taking off! How great.
boobzz (aka Cazz) - The reduction may make a difference, since your naturalness has been altered. Who knows, I ain't no doctor. Yay for your perky girlies! I'm so excited for your daughter's wedding this weekend. Is she having an indoor or outdoor wedding? I hope you both have a perfect day!
linemansgirl - Oh no on the tummy troubles! I think with your run 10 walk 5 program, you'd be ready for that 5K that's aroudn the corner, but I get needing to feel prepared, and Thanksgiving is a good amount of time away that you could really work yourself up to it. Is it bad that I imagined you and Crystal in turkey costumes for the run? Yay for hitting 156!!
Crystal - What a fantastic trip! A good time AND a great loss when you came back?! That's super. You're probably right, that you're not eating enough calories. And you are probably thinking about your food more when you're home vs. eating what you wanted at the time on the trip. Relaxing a bit about your food sure did work out great for you. To get started on the Turkey Trot, get Couch to 5K, or download some interval training podcasts (like MotionTraxx and Podrunner)
mollybeslimmer - Let us know if we can help you in any way in getting into an exercise routine. We're all here for you.
Nikster - Just throw caution to the wind and go camping. If the weather's great, then why not?!
nursee - I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I'll definitely keep your rotator cuff and her motivation to try in mind.
fitterpam - Even though you were on a business trip, did you get to go out and do anything fun?
Happy early Wednesday morning! I'm all talk and no action with the workouts. Gotta kick those lazies to the curb!0 -

My daughter is having an afternoon-ish (4pm) outdoor wedding in "apple country"... Julian, CA. At a really nice lodge. Reception is indoors. It's gonna be a bit chilly in the evening. I am really looking forward to it... to be OVER!! I love my soon to be son-in-law and his family is awesome as well. My daughter made a good choice. There's just SO much to do before Sunday!! ugh!
Seriously, I am even looking forward to the tears!0 -
This morning I was 154, one pound below goal!!!!!!! WOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   I will still lose 2-4 more pounds for a buffer zone. Zig-zagging didn't do much the first week, but the pounds are dropping like flies this week!!!!
April - I am so sorry about your knee, I hope that it is better soon!
Nursee - I am so sorry about your MIL. I will pray that she is able to find hope and keep on fighting.
Cazz - Have a fabulous time at your daughter's wedding and relax and ENJOY yourself.
Pink - You go girl!!!! You can do this!!!!!!!!
Crystal - I am SO THRILLED that the pounds are dropping with you eating MORE! Doesn't get better than that! :bigsmile:0 -
Checking in again. It's my day off work so I slept in a bit, then went to the gym for my 5 miles because the weather has returned to suckiness (sometimes I hate Michigan) and I hate cold wet sucktacular weather. So, sprints on the treadmill... oh joy! But I did it, and it felt pretty good! I went faster than usual, for longer than I thought I could.. so that's good.
The BEST part of today though, was the 2 pounds I lost!!! Wow... didn't expect that! My body tends to lose only 2-4 pounds a month, and sometimes it's all at once. I'm getting used to seeing the .2 or .6 losses and then WHAMOO... 2 whole pounds! Those are wonderful days! I realize I'm getting closer to my goal, but I'm really thinking I may keep going and see what happens. My body hasn't been at this weight since my wedding day nearly 17 years ago!!! I was on WW back then, and ended up getting to 138 and then going back up.. never to see this side of 145 again! It's amazing how turning into an athlete is helping me stick with it and motivating me to keep going and see what the future holds!
Anyway.. we decided not to go camping. The main reason my kid wanted to go was to kayak and I doubt we'll get on the river since they are all flooded!!! We decided to wait until later in the summer and kayak another time. I'm glad, since hubby will be home for the weekend!!!!0 -
Bump!0

Thought I'd check in. It looks like everyone is doing GREAT! I'm so proud of all of you - you keep me going.
We're leaving town tomorrow for a family reunion and will be back Monday. I'm hoping there will be internet access, but we'll just have to see, I guess.
Thanks for the advise about C25K. I had heard of it before, but never checked it out. I'll do that.
I hope everyone had a fantastic and safe weekend!!!!! We're getting there, Ladies!!!!!!! :bigsmile:0 -
Lately (past couple of weeks) I've plateaued, and have been a bit discouraged. I've been keeping up the intense workouts and mostly good eating, but it's been somewhat frustrating. Anyway, I just got finished with my trainer at the gym, and I have lost inches (yay!), and she wants to take my focus off losing weight and put it on being athletic. Since I'm working out 5-6x / week, I'm close to that mindset anyway, but not quite.
So the crazy/scary thing is that she said, oh so casually, "I think we should start training you for a half marathon next June". WHAT?? I currently don't run - I walk, use the elliptical, arc trainer, and walk fast with hills - but not run.
So the plan is to start training for a 5k in September and then a 10k in January. I'm kind of excited to have a big goal, and kind of scared, since I'm not currently a runner. You guys are part of the reason I think I can do this - Nikester you've had such a great success with running, and linesmangirl you were commenting about running last week with your success doing 8 minutes. And I remember Pink did a race too, but I don't remember the distance.
So I'm going to be a runner (well, jogger)! I'll need some encouragement and help along the way, but day 1 is going well. I wanted to see if I could run at all, so I hopped on the treadmill, put it at 5.4, and ran for 4 minutes without stopping. At least it's a start!
BTW, you're the first people I've told, and I was excited to post to our group about this  :happy:0 -
I went to the doctor about my back today.. and they said its because of being "overweight" and wear and tear on my back. Once I get my back in order, Im going to be true to myself with losing weight. Ive gotten lazy about it. Not cool. I have soo many resources thers no reason not to workout..0

Finally tried to get back into running tonight after a week and two day break. I've been having a problem with my shin/calf on my left leg. I'm not sure what the issue is but the pain is pretty acute. It's not a shin splint and normal calf stretches don't help. I've been doing the Shred since last Monday and the pain started Wed/Thur of last week. So I took a break from running. I took Saturday off from the Shred and when I tried to do it again on Sunday it hurt like hell! So I gave Monday and Tuesday as full rest/recovery days. I did the Shred again last night and felt the tinge and then I ran two miles tonight and the pain was back full force. I really didn't have any problems at all until I started the Shred so I don't think its the shoes or anything like that. But man is it painful! I'm icing it right now and for the first time in my life, purchased Bengay.
I'm trying to push myself but I don't want to cause any damage either. I have my first 5k in 16 days and I really need to be doing my most intense training in the next week and a half and this pain is really hindering that.
Any suggestions?
April, I'm so sorry to hear about your back! It's like a rock and a hard place. You can't exercise like you want to because of your back but the problems with your back are because you can't exercise like you want to. I wish you the best! Just do what you can
Allegria - THAT IS AN AWESOME GOAL!!! My first 5k is June 12th and then I immediately start training for a 4 mile Mud Run on September 17th. Small, attainable, measurable goals. That's the only way to do it!!!
Crystal - Have a great time at the family reunion! I have one coming up in July so let me know how you do with the food/exercise and provide any pointers you can
Nikestergirl - Awesome job on the 2lbs loss!! Sorry to hear about the camping trip. Maybe you can reschedule. Wish you lived closer to me, looks like we have a lot in common. I'm going kayaking on Sunday and my little one has been begging me to go. But she's only 3 so she's got some time before she's out on the river, lol. But I'm also going camping the following Sunday. Hopefully the weather holds out for us!\
Nursee - Your MIL is still in my thoughts. I hope all is well.....0
