Meal replacement bars

I currently have some college courses on Monday and Wednesday at noon-5pm. I usually have appointments before my classes so im trying to figure out a good meal replacement bar that tastes good and keeps you full for a couple hours. Thanks in advance

I like Clif and Luna. I've just bought some Quest bars because they have a higher protein:calorie ratio, but haven't eaten any yet so I don't know how they taste.0

Homemade oatmeal, whey and peanut butter bars or homemade quest bars as sixxpoint mentioned.

Either Quest Bars.
Or Oh Yeah! Victory Bars.
Personally I prefer the latter because I like the tastes better,
they're also glutenfree (in case you're sensitive) and have no artificial flavours or sweeteners.0 -
If I am really in a time crunch and know it will be hectic, to boot, I get the Clif MAX Protein Bars. I like the cookie dough one and chocolate chip. I also keep a few regular clif bars, though I don't really consider those a meal replacement. The Clif Builder are almost a meal replacement, but have great flavors.0

I usually make a batch of homemade Protein Pumpkin Apple Banana Oatmeal Bars on the weekend for the next week. They keep me full for hours.0

Quest, Quest, Quest. Seriously. Tons of fiber and protein to keep you full, and most of the flavors taste like dessert. Cookies and cream is my fave so far, but white chocolate raspberry and coconut cashew are not far behind. I just got a box of mint chocolate chunk that I haven't tried yet. Lemon pie is also amazing. Even the peanut butter and jelly or the other fruity flavors are delicious. Believe it or not, double chocolate chunk is thus far the most boring flavor I've tried.
Also, the Quest bars are usually 200 calories or less. Some are as low as 160.0 -

I love Quest bars...don't get me wrong. But at ~200 calories each, I'd hardly call them a meal replacement bar.
Why not just eat a regular lunch around say 11:00?0 -
Quest bars! I eat them for lunch everyday. Low Carb, High Protein and fibre

Sometimes there just isn't time or availability of food.
Sometimes I'll hike all day and won't carry a stove, fuel, pot/utensils, and food. Because it is just for the day... so I'll carry this type of food.
Sometimes it is because I'm driving either in a rural area or just don't have time or available calories to eat at the most convenient fast food joint. I know what you are thinking... you don't have 5 min.?! No, sometimes I do not. Things like Clif bars survive in the glove box of a hot car and are quick and easy to grab while going down the road.
ETA: I know you were addressing OP, but wanted to point out there are many reasons why someone would not be able to eat a "regular" meal.0 -

It takes me about an hour to get to school so it would be just too early to eat before class. Also my teacher does not allow for eating in her classroom so I couldn't even pack a lunch. We get two 10 min breaks from 12-5 so just needing something portable that I can eat right before class or on break.

Wow, the only other person on this thread who loves Pure Protein bars?!
They are my go-to for horse shows, work or dinner on the run! Delicious and pretty filling! I make sure to drink at least a cup or two of water as well, as that helps me feel less hungry also.
My favorite flavors are the chocolate deluxe and the chocolate chip cookie! But with all these votes for Quest bars, I may need to try them too.
@ceoverturf they might not be enough for the typical guy's meal, but they're normally enough for *many* ladies I often completely skip lunch in the summer.0 -

I LOVE Pure Protein. Good numbers and they taste amazing! I buy them at Costco where they're less than half the price of Quest bars which to me are in the same range as far as taste. The Chocolate Peanut Caramels are better than candy bars!0 -

Understood...but the only info we had on OP was she had class from noon to 5. That implies plenty of time in the morning to eat. Obviously she has since clarified.
And I'd say a Clif builder bar is probably closer to a meal replacement than a Quest bar (though neither is specifically designed as such).
Like I said, I eat Quest (and Clif) bars semi-regularly. Just didn't want people to get the idea that they were designed to serve as meal replacements...that's all.
ETA: I admittedly missed the part about having appointments before class. Still have a hard time endorsing any sort of 'bar' as a meal replacement on a regular basis.0 -
With all this talk of Pure Protein bars, I took a look at the macro content and noticed they do have a fairly high level of protein compared to Clif bars. I tried some Pure Protein awhile back (Chocolate Delux) and hated the taste. I love the taste of Clif bars, but as I am trying to increase protein consumption, I'm looking for other alternatives. Quest was suggested because of the higher protein content.
I almost want to take a day and use my calories to taste various brands/flavors to find something that tastes good and is higher in protein.0 -
Quest bars are first on my list especially in the morning when I don't have time to eat before I start work.0

Quest bars if you are buying them. If you want something homemade, there are lots of bar recipes and you can take nuts/fruit to supplement on the side. Good luck!0

Agreed. A Quest bar can be a good fill in if you're getting the right amount of calories elsewhere in the day, but for most people 160-210 calories is not enough calories or nutrients to replace the average person's lunch. It's better than nothing for many and can definitely fit in to a day, but it'd be best supplemented by some fats and vegetables/fruit to make a meal.0
