Good luck. It sucks the first couple weeks. Hopefully you'll get used to eating less in a shorter time.

Drink water it helps a lot and good to boost metabolism Find small snacks that will keep you satisfied in between meals. It's not going to be easy but it will be worth it0

You'll get through it. If you get too hungry, read through some success stories, they really help me when I am having a horrible day and want to eat more than allotted.0

Day 210 - I am so hungry :-( - Everything (except the water boosts metabolism) is true. But what hasn't been mentioned is that losing weight means eating at a calorie deficit and your body will resist this fiercely. It thinks you are going to die and does all sorts of things to motivate you to prevent this disastrous state of affairs. So part of the journey of successful weight loss is finding a way to live with hunger as serenely as you can. This will consist of a mixture of food choices to maximise satiety (physiologically and psychologically), finding a pattern of eating (times of day, all days the same or up days and down days) that works and finding a way to win (or at least declare a truce) in the mental battle (mindfulness, relaxation, meditation, CBT, ACT...). You may find hunger gets better, or you may find it doesn't - no-one can say. My experience was inititially hunger was terrible, then it got much better, then it got almost as bad again, and now (200+) days later it is generally better, but I still have bad days both physiologically and psychologically. I am only a couple of days into this as well and I feel your hunger pain. Still, when I look at what I am eating, it's sufficient, I've just cut out a serious amount of junk and I think my body is in shock. Hang in there!0

Some days I still get ravenous and I'm on a 390 day streak. What Alyssa and Ndj asked above....can you provide a bit more info for better help?0

When you first start losing weight, it's okay to eat a little more than what MFP says. It will take your body some time to adjust. I was eating 1500 calories when I first started and now i'm done to averaging about 1150. Eventually there will be days where you have to force yourself to eat. If you're exercising you need to make sure you keep your body hydrated, but make sure you have enough protein. I'm learning a lot from experience and through MFP.

I'm doing a muscle building program where I only cut 150 calories, eat about 40% protein, break my food down into 5-6 small meals, and lift heavy. I'm stuffed by the end of the day. In the past week I've eaten cake almost every day and still lost .2 lbs and feel tighter and stronger eating around 1800 calories a day.
Severe calorie restriction just makes me hangry and I end up saying screw it. Lifting heavy, increasing activity and eating at a slight deficit is so much more satisfying.0 -

I find having a BIG bottle of water to sip from, sugar free gum (or mints/lollipops) and plenty of different flavoured herbal teas to hand help a LOT.
Also, getting out of the habit of eating in front of a screen (computer/phone/film/windscreen) is something I struggle with but is so worth it because focusing on nothing but what I am putting in my mouth makes me realize when I am actually hungry instead of bored/wanting something to chew.0 -
Make sure you're getting plenty of protein and fats, as they keep you sated longer.0

I get really hungry 2 hours after breakfast...no matter when I eat it or how much I eat.
Solution: don't eat breakfast until lunch time or later. I'm way LESS hungry having not eaten at all!
I clocked in just over 1200 cal today (I'm trying to lose aggressively now that my conditioning supports enough exercise). I was actually STUFFED with my dinner and had to set it aside to eat the rest later!0
