You cannot spot reduce fat. If you want to get rid of the belly fat, create a caloric deficit; you'll have to lose from everywhere (our genetics dictate that) and eventually the belly fat will go.

If you already have loose skin, create a moderate caloric deficit (-20% of TDEE) so your skins elasticity can keep up with the weight loss.

Lift heavy and eat in a deficit.

I'd start with 30-40 minutes of cardio 3 or 4 times a week and cut your carbs in half.

I like the StairMaster but running, jogging, treadmill, stationary bike, or incline walking. Sit ups are okay but you'd want to mix in other movements like planks, leg raises, and sciccor kicks. If you're lifting your legs toward your torso you hitting more lower abs and if you're bringing your head to your torso your hitting more upper abs so you want to incorporate both movements. Good luck!

if the loose skin is not fat, and just the result of baby beach ball stretch, then sadly only time will get rid of that.

If you have fat to lose, then eat at a deficit. Cardio is great for endurance and increasing calorie burn (helping earn a deficit and not sacrifice eating habits). Strength training is great for increasing muscle mass and boosting metabolism. Keeping in mind that you won't gain much muscle growth if you're eating in a deficit.

I've had 2 kids and have a 6 pack, but I still have loose belly skin - which my 7 year old loves to play with.

Cutting carbs really isn't necessary for weight loss.

By cardio do you mean running and situps?

It really doesn't matter what you do for cardio or even exercise in fact, it won't have a huge impact on weight loss. That comes from the caloric deficit.

Cardio is exercise that increases your heart rate for a significant amount of time: running, biking, fast walking, etc.

This is true. You can lose weight with no exercise as long as you are in a deficit. The beauty of some cardio is a) heart health
    b) you burn more calories in half an hour of steady state cardio than you do weight lifting
    c) burning more calories = ability to eat more food and feel less hungry WHILE still being in a defiict.

I do BOTH - cardio (long distance running) and weights. Last night I ran 7 miles in about 70 mins (my heartrate averages 170 bpm). I burned approx 1000 calories. Tonight I'll lift weights for about an hour and only burn about 200 calories.

I love the muscles I get from lifting, but the FOOD i can eat from cardio

@IsaackGMOON I didn't say it was the only way to lose weight...but thanks for stating the obvious. She's asking for advice on losing weight and if you want to lose weight I recommend cutting carbs. You'll get results. And what are you talking about? Cardio has a huge impact on weight loss. Everyone in here can at least agree on that. The more energy you burn the more you can eat. The more you eat the more nutrients/vitamins/minerals/water you can get. So please stop trolling.

    You think that is trolling?

It was more of a comparison. Likening it to trolling.

some of us, myself included, will never get our old stomach back. if u have alot of stretch marks and loose skin this could simply be your new body, well barring a tummy tuck. this sucks but it is life after children. u can still be in great shape though!
