Filling food

I need a food that is rugged, feels like I have eaten something SOLID/FILLING but isnt going to be 1000 calories or have 300mg of cholesterol in it.

But if thats what it takes so be it. However, before I cave to assuming that I'm ONLY going to eat steak or dark pork, is there ANYTHING that is filling and satisfying for someone who is trying to eat smarter to start consuming less calories?

This has been a very frustrating road. If anyone ever suggest turkey sausage again over regular sausage... Same calories, same fat and sat fat with 1g difference and the turkey sausage is like eating a piece of bread while a sausage link is something HARDY. Big difference. Eating with 4 egg whites. Perfect breakfast. Turkey sausage? Makes me want to make another one hoping it will satisfy me and now its doubling my calories!

Luch is a flax seed wrap with ham and cheese mustard and baby spinach. Total calories for breakfast and lunch approx 600 calories. I have 1200 left for dinner and I need it to count but I have yet found anything that is truly satisfying without eating a lot of it. I can eat 8oz of brocolli and a pound of steak with a can of mushrooms and THAT is satisfying AND under my 1800 calorie a day goal but this meal is almost 1100 calories!!!! There must be SOMETHING that is more filling and satisfying than such a large meal!

If there is anyone with input, my sincere thanks. If it appears too forward, my apologies. But this has been MONTHS of research and 12 sources say 12 things... it gets annoying.

The simplest meal that really fills me up is rice and beans. I buy the dried beans and slow cook them myself. It's cheap and filling and def not 1000 cals even if you top it with some cheese/salsa.

Beans and rice... oh my... will look into that... I remember the old parties in the projects... Whole chicken legs swimming in a stew of beans and rice.... a Puerto Rican dish. THAT was to die for... Soul Food for certain. Bet I'll have to omit the legs but I'll look into it, Thanks!
