if you were to stop eating at 12pm on Monday then fast till 12pm on Tuesday would all your maintenance calories from Monday go towards a calorie deficit?
say your maintenance is 2000 calories would that 1 day of fasting have created a 2000 calorie deficit?

yes, or maybe a bit less than 2000 as your body will respond to the lack of food - as will you :-)0

As long as you don't go over the day after your fast (as I tend to do!)0

sometimes im busy and don't eat for 16-20 hours. on those types of days would it be better to just fast for the rest of the day to create a larger weekly deficit since it's almost over anyways.0

It would depend how much you ate on Monday and Tuesday. You could easily eat your normal daily calories before 12pm Monday, then your nomrla daily calories after 12pm Tuesday.0 -

so if you start the fast at say 9am on Monday and break it on 12pm on Tuesday?
thats 27 hours, that would mean your now in a 2000 calorie deficit on Tuesday.0 -

Might be easier to look at it over a week than a day - you use 14000 (7*2000) and take the deficit from there.0

Yes in theory, but your hunger or the anticipation of being hungry might well lead you to overeat on the other days to cancel it out. The brain plays tricks on us that way. You might also find that you move less (without meaning to) because you are low on fuel.0

I am befuddled at the complexity of this question
You have a calorie defecit to hit across the week ..however you get there, totally up to you
Ps by week I mean 7 days ..so you could use the app and just check the rolling 7 days0
