Meal plans/fitnessblender

Does anyone recommend using meal plans? I use Fitnessblender.com on YouTube for some of my workouts and they offer 4 week weight loss meal plans. Also, I'm cooking for 6 at dinner and on weekends so that's been an obstacle. I don't want to cook something different for me but I don't know if I can get everyone on board with healthier meals.

Meal plans really work for me...As for cooking for 6, I wouldn't say go for one made up by these companies but foods you know you can easily cook from scratch and aren't perishable.
For one thing it saves wondering what to make for dinner and if you have kids, this is what we are having for supper and no quibbles. Get them to help choose what you are having on each day of the week, one can choose for one day and the other for the next and so on. It will help them feel more involved and excited.
Another thing I noticed when I started making meal plans is how much money I saved. Yes it was half an hour gone whilst planning, but then I could shop for exactly what I needed, breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks and you tend to buy less junk because you have this set list.
Its so much easier to make sure you won't go over your calories as you just log what you are going to have in my fitness pal in advance and then you know you won't be going over your own calories...and that's before you add in exercise. Plan for a few odd treats of what you can have if you do your exercise and don't go over your calories
Works for me...hope this helps0 -

why can't you cook like normal, but eat less?? i made about two pounds of shredded taco chicken last night in the crockpot, along with some rice. healthy and plentiful. your family can add tons of cheese and sour cream and have chips or taco shells, while you can skip the extra stuff and have it over a big bowl of greens.0 -
I agree with capt.you can eat whatever and just eat less or add greek yogurt instead of the sour cream. more protein that way too. you can meal prep all your meals if you want to and follow the meal plan that way and then make dinner for the rest of your family and all you have to do is heat yours up and add some sides or whatever if you want.its totally up to you. I also agree with kmcampbell, involve the kids. you can also incorporate some healthier items into their meals and add cheese or something to veggies if they dont like them. that way they are still eating healthy as well. little by little just change things in their meals that arent healthy for things that are.0

"Eat what I fix or go without" ...mean...but effective. Your health is more important than yummy food for the others. Smaller portions is also a good idea, that is what we are currently doing. And adding more veggies.0
