Started a weight loss and fitness regime a few weeks ago as I hate my size, hate seeing myself in photographs and am desperate to get in shape for a very long awaited family holiday at the end of August. I do ok for a few weeks and then I get bored with being good...... This time it happened because I injured my knee which stopped me doing the walking I love, and I look to the fridge for comfort because I'm bored!!!
I'm a 43 year old of 3 needing support from people with a gsoh!

I think we all at some point get bored with "being good". My best advice is to change your mindset. It's not about "being good", its about anchoring to the motivation that got you started in the first place. For me that was looking in my closet at all the beautiful things and not being able to wear them; walking up my stairs at home and getting winded; having terrible shooting pains in my chest. I said enough was enough, I'm slowly but surely killing myself as heart disease and diabetes run through my family like water.
Get back or discover what your root issue is and when you begin to lose motivation, trust me this will get you back focused.

So be bad, everyday. Just a little. Eat a piece of chocolate, live on the wild side. Log it and you'll still lose weight.

Bored? Then you're not doing it right. Figuring out how to eat a variety of nutritious foods that fit into your daily calories without going over is a bit of a challenge, not a bore.

Do you want to change your body for the good? Then quit whining about "being bored" like a teenager would and keep at it.

Honestly...if you want this more than anything, you will succeed. But if you're only half into it, you'll never get anywhere.

It's not about "being good." It's about being successful.

Make "being good" more fun. I would get bored eating the same boring health food all time time. I regularly pick out a fancy cheese or new dip or veggies in sauce to mix things up. Healthy food is only good if you're going to eat it. Moderate the "fun" stuff and you'll be less bored.

I'd suggest a fun activity, but maybe look at some new hobbies you can do while you're immobile. It won't help with your fitness, but it might distract you from the fridge.

I got "bored" yesterday and was still able to end the day 476 calories under my daily goal. Celery and peanut butter. Or a handful of lightly salted cashews. Works every time. Promise! :-)

It sounds like your "good" routine is too strict. Food does't have to be boring or dull in order for you to eat at deficit. Being "good" on a diet need not mean never having treats or eating something just because it tastes good.

I'm just the opposite. I can't believe I can lose all this weight while still being "bad." After years of being conditioned to think that I can't eat certain things if I want to lose weight, it's nice to finally understand that I CAN eat them and still lose weight.

I tend to be good 6 days out of 7, but all the bad happens at once! Just changed regime, see if that starts the weight coming off again. Been stuck at the same weight for three weeks now!

Being good is no fun ;) Have your treats as long as they fit into your daily allowance.
