I am NOT a salad eater. The few times I do eat them, I like creamy italian dressing. Obviously, I want to stay away from creamy. So besides lite italian, is there a another dressing you guys eat that you would recommend. Salad is on the menu for tonight and I'm getting ready to run to the store in a few. I have had ceaser, peppercorn, raspberry vinagretts in the past and liked them.
Do the totally fat free ones even taste good????

Farmer Boy Greek Dressing. Heaven in a bottle. I put it on chicken, salad, and dip my veggies in it. SOOOO good! I buy it at Publix, but they only have it every few months. Not sure where else they sell it.0

Ken's "light options" balsamic vinegar is YUMMY. hubby loves their parmesan peppercorn, and he's mr anti-salad. Any of the flavors in that line are yummmmm-o. )0
-
Kens Light Options are really good, my favorite are the parmesan peppercorn and the vidalia onion. Yogurt dressings in the refrigerated section are good too... My fave is Bolthouse Farms Ranch!0

I use Hannah's Tzakiki sauce (25 cals a tablespoon) sometimes with hot sauce mixed in. You definately get that creaminess that a lot of people look for in a salad dressing.
Also, I mix 2% Fage greek yogurt with some ranch (powder) mix for my salads. That comes out to around 15-16 calories a tablespoon.
I don't even miss regular salad dressing!0 -
You can use Salsa or even mix salsa and Avocado for a delicious guac..0

Bolthouse Farms makes yogurt based salad dressings .. they are yummy and 60 cal for 2 TBS (in refridge section next to fruit etc) also trader joes has a reduced fat ranch parmesean for 30 cal for 2TBS... yumm yumm...0

Balsamic vinegar and citrus juice (equal parts of both), my favorite is either orange or lemon. I just use half the fruit, I think it's about 1-2 tbls or so depending on how juicy of a fruit you get.0

Target's Market Pantry Red Wine Vinegrette and Paul Newman's Own Lighten Up! Light Lime Vinegrette. Both are really low in calories and taste great! I like the creamy dressings too. These ones are my favorites for summer though.0

truthfully you have to get your fat from somewhere and I most of the time use regular salad dressing. I carefully measure it. I sometimes will do a light dressing. I like Ken's light sweet vidalia onion.0
-
Hendrickson's Sweet Vinegar and Olive Oil. Yum. I put it on Cucumber salad, salad, chicken, pasta, etc.0
-
I never cared for any light or fat free dressing. I would rather do 1/2 the serving of a nice, real blue cheese and mix in a tbspoon fat free milk to make it cover. I had wishbones power fruit vinegarette today....and that was yummy!!0
-
Marzetti Light Balsamic Vinaigarette - 50 cals per serving
or my all-time fave
Newman's Own Lighten Up! Sesame Ginger - 35 cals per serving0 -
I have grown accustomed to just balsamic vinegar and red pepper flakes. It's especially good on spinach salad. If I want to pretend it's creamy, I mix balsamic with dijon mustard and thin it out with water a bit.
Thankfully I like the taste of my veggies, otherwise I don't think these dressings would really cut it0 -
thanks guys! off to the store:)0

Kraft has a lite ranch that taste fine to me. i think it is 25 calories. Or you could try cucumber dressing it is creamy. I toss just greens with the cucumber and add dried dill all over. I love Italian dressing myself. i just buy the lite stuff and put it on everything.0

My husband and I ran across this one in one of our cookbooks. If you like a hint of lime, this was soooooo yummy.
Honey Lime Dressing
Plain Yogurt, 0.33 cup
Sour Cream, 5.28 tbsp
Honey, 2 tbsp
Fresh Lime Zest, 1.5 tsp
Lime juice - 0.04 cup
Salt, 0.25 tsp
Pepper, black, 0.25 tsp

Best of luck
Angela
