Good Evening MFP-er's!

I recently signed up for NutriSystem and hoping to find support through the journey of making fat cry. I am getting married in November and want to finally accomplish my goals. No more saying tomorrow will be the day. Today IS the day! I have the best support system at home but I am hoping to find some people here in which we can support one another. It is just not the same when your SO does not need to lose weight. I can imagine that this will be difficult as he eats as he normally has while I am changing my mindset from enjoying my foods to fueling my body. Can you believe my fiance had a package of Oreo's hidden in the bathroom?! Such a sweetheart for hiding them today so I wouldn't have temptations. He just needs to learn better hiding places, like near lawn tools where I am sure not to go near.

I look forward to making new connections with MFP members and the changes we can make together.

Hi, I've been on a weight loss/gain roller coaster the past year, so while at Walmart this weekend, I bought one of the Nutrisystem Fast Five Kits. Started today! I've tried meal planning/prepping, counting calories, etc. Life is so hectic, and I'm a very "convenience" food type of gal. Planning on purchasing a couple of Costco gift cards for Nutrisystem next Monday (payday), then ordering online at NS website. Good luck to you! How's it going so far?

That's awesome! I'm also all about convenience which is why I chose to start NS. So far it's going great! Most of the food tastes really good and only found 2 I didn't really care for in the two weeks I've been on the plan. The frozen items are the best. I would say it is worth the additional cost.

There are a few NS groups here on MFP. If you're interested in joining and talking with other NS members to help you along the way, just send me a PM, and I'll help you find them. :) It helps so much to have others to support you along the way. Also, if you haven't placed your first order yet, let me know that and I can get you a $30 coupon. It's good for your first order only. Every little bit helps.

BTW, FedGirl, what you bought at Walmart is just a five-day kit--the Fast Five is different from that and you'll get that in your first order. It's a lower-calorie plan for the that first week and includes energy shakes and "craving crusher" shakes. Personally, I didn't do the Fast Five because it's only around 1000 calories a day for the first week and I'm 6'1" and just felt that wouldn't work well for me.

Hang in there, Ladies! NS really works. I've lost 28 pounds in three months (and I'm over 50!). :)

Thanks for the info! I was wondering why my box had no shakes, but the other one did, haha. Now, I know! I'm curious about your losing 28 pounds, cuz that's amazing! Do you eat the NS breakfast and lunch by themselves? Or do you add a vegetable and/or salad?

The only thing this week I couldn't stand was the chicken noodle lunch. it was disgusting! i literally spit it out. And I was starving all day! LOL. That chocolate snack cake though? yum yum!

You add "power fuels" and "smart carbs" t as well as vegetables to your NS meals. How many PFs and SCs depends on how much you have to lose, your age, your activity level, etc. Most add three PFs and one SC. But you have mre than 100 to lose or are very active or tall, you'd add four PFs and three SCs.

Here's what my typical day looks like:

8:00 a.m.: Coffee and NS breakfast
10:00 a.m.: Snack of one PF and some vegetables (usually 3-4 ounces of roast turkey breast)
Noonish: Two to three servings of raw vegetables and NS lunch bar
3:00 p.m.: Snack of Chobani 100-cal cup of vanilla yogurt and a cup of fresh berries
5:30 ish: NS dinner entree and more vegetables
    8:00 p.m.: NS dessert

I also drink at least 64 oz of water a day. On days I exercise, I add a protein shake, which is most days. I'm 6'1", so if I'm especially hungry I do add in more PFs and SCs--I don't usually eat all that I'm allowed, which is a no-no (you're supposed to eat everything on your plan), but I find I lose more consistently if I stay closer to the plan for shorter folks. Again, I do up my intake on my heavier exercise days. I never have fewer than 3 PFs and 1 SC in a day though.

You figure out what you like. There have been only a couple entrees I just couldn't stomach at all and will never order again. I have some standards I order every month--the frozen pizzas and meatloaf sandwiches are definitely on every order! :)

I really like the program. I find it really easy to stick to.
