Don't know, don't care. The point was that the OP can likely find some items in the MFP database that would be reasonable approximates for the carny food. Fried oreos had been mentioned (not by the OP), so I used that as a item to search.
Personally, a fried oreo sounds awful, but fairs are a great place for trying something normally "out-of-bounds". The beauty of eating at a consistent deficit is that one day of indulgence doesn't do as much damage as fad diets would claim.
Special events become easy. Decide before how much you'd like to indulge. Log it, own it, move on. Done.
you would be surprised fried oreos are pretty damn delicious
Perhaps, hehe. I might try the deep fried Coca-Cola for curiosity's sake.
im not really sure if i have ever consumed anything deep fried i didn't like. i could probably just eat the deep fried breading dipped in whatever. in fact as a child when i hated onions (love em now) i would just eat the breading off onions rings dipped in ranch... you know I'm really upset i can't eat like that anymore haha
Have you tried deep fried butter? Just curious. Sounds gross to me.0 -
i would log as best i can (cause im like that) but also eat and enjoy and not worry about the overage!!! HAVE FUN!0

When it comes to our county fair and the Minnesota state fair I just throw logging out the window. I should try sometime though and see how close to 5 digits I get.0

Ours doesn't come around until fall, but I will go and I WILL eat an elephant ear smothered in powdered sugar. All of it. And I will not regret it. LOL
It's the only time I can get one, so the way I see it, just indulge for a day, log it, and move on. Fair food is supposed to be ridiculously overpriced and as full of fat as they can make it. That's the point.

There are fried oreos in MFP...I logged them a couple weeks ago.
Just do your thing. I bank calories for my days like that but if you're already in a deficit, you might not need to. You might just be at maintenance for the week if you go too high.0 -

i figured someone would have put them in there. I have been at a good deficit this week so I'm hoping if anything it will just keep me at maintenance.0 -
Just keep in mind that if you are going to blow out the day with eg 1500 excess calories, that wipes out 4 days of dieting at a 500 calorie deficit.
Sometimes it's totally worth it - but that's something only you can decide.
Have fun, either way! :drinker:0
