Yup, no pain no gain. Have a rest day around every 3 or 4 days.0

Thanks0

What was your workout yesterday? What would you workout today?sarahdayski wrote: »Yup, no pain no gain. Have a rest day around every 3 or 4 days.
This information is wrong to say without having more info from OP.

If your workout today is a different body part or exercise from yesterday then I'd go. I wouldn't work a muscle that's already sore. It does help to keep things moving though so even a good walk will be better than nothing.0

The bolded section is a really stupid thing to suggest without knowing the OP and their capabilities.
I gain nothing by running with the pain in my leg, except more pain and damage.
Pain is the body's way of saying "slow the *kitten* down"
Muscle soreness is a different beast and can be worked through. Pain shouldn't.0 -
So focus on your upper body instead.0

if I am just sore I still go, sometimes working out the muscles helps me feel less sore. if I feel like it's really bad that I cannot workout my legs anymore I do a different workout. sometimes walking around will make your legs feel better. only you know what kind of soreness you are feeling, make sure you dont injure yourself0

Thank you everybody0

If I'm not in action, I'm in traction!0 -

Sounds like DOMS - being sore is different from being in pain.
In any event, the benefit of training comes in the recovery period so as others have said concentrate on different body parts today to allow for the best results. Also some low intensity cardio and an anti-inflammatory medicine like Ibuprofen will help the soreness go away a little quicker.0 -
I would like to say this isn't always clear. I asked an almost identical question last Monday. A few days later I realized I actually had pulled or strained a muscle. The pain felt similar to doms but was only in my shin. So just be careful if it is uneven it could be a minor injury.0

Are you working off a designed plan? Squats yesterday, you really wouldn't want to do this the next day. But working a different area would be fine.0

what are your goals? Bodybuilding, losing weight, gaining weight etc. Maybe I can offer a routine too..0
