Try flax seeds / linseed , chia seeds , linseed and soy bread , pronutro cereal with prunes , lots of extra water, at TOM some peoples gut slows no mater what . Also try jogging / running a few miles this with lots of fibre can be very effective , if you run outside know where the loo can be found0

Drink it before sleep and make sure you don't have anywhere to go for a few hours... it uh (TMI) liquifies everything and yeah, you have to go 5 ot 6 times, but it will clear everything out. Mild cramping before you have to go, but it's not that bad. It subsides after everything clears out.
I use it when I can't go for a few days and makes my stomach uncomfortable, gives massive relief.
This sounds like what I need. I will definitely look it up. I'm overseas and hopefully it ships here. Thanks!0 -
Magnesium is great for that!
Magnesium Citrate has a laxative effect and Magnesium Oxide has stool softening properties.
If you take too much iron it can get you constipated; so can taking a calcium without magnesium or in the wrong ratio.
Hope this helps.

Thank you! I will certainly read through this and test it out!0 -

Can you or anyone tell me about your experience with this? I read it on another site and got some mixed reviews, most being positive.
Magnesium citrate will definitely work, but it seems a bit extreme for your circumstances. I had to resort to it twice when 7 days utterly immobile, crappy eating law school study sessions led to acutely painful constipation that I didn't notice until the problem was too far gone for gentler methods. I don't know how well it would work for more chronic issues, for me it was always a one-time cure for bad habits and I got back to eating /moving healthy afterwards.
I'd say try some of the moderate solutions suggested here before home to mag citrate. And reserve a day at home by the toilet with a tub of aquaphor if you do get to that point!0 -
I agree fiber could be to blame. Try to add whole grains and beans0

cant' see your diary to confirm about fiber or fat- but odds are your fat content is to low.
Go to five guys and then go for a walk. You'll be ready to go in no time.0 -
Add fiber. Kind almonds bars help me0

gosh i'm having this problem right now..it's been 4 days.... thanks everyone for the insight..i have a weigh-in tomorrow and i kinda want to drop the pounds that don't actually count if you know what i mean.
I was very close to grabbing some metamucil but that's a soluble fiber...i definitely need insoluble. Also, I have noticed that my coffee intake has dropped considerably. I used to have 4-5 cups a day..now it is once every few days for no real reason aside from upping my green tea and water consumption. Maybe I'll have a few cups to see if that helps0 -

Got my Smooth Move tea in the mail today, as suggested. Giving it a try and will report back tomorrow if it's recommended and did the trick!0

Ever since I added a cup of raspberries with about 45 calories of 70% dark chocolate melted over I haven't had this problem. Not a cheap fruit to eat a cup a night, but better than taking over the counter meds. Hope your tea works out...but if not0

I took magnesium citrate and it did absolutely nothing for me. Choked down the while bottle, no joke. Bleh! What almost always works for me is a full glass of warm water first thing in the morning (it doesn't have to be early, just before anything else).0

For dinner, steam about 8 or 10 fresh whole okra for 3.5 minutes. Salt & eat (whole thing except the stems) immediately. This is key to cooking it, do it another way or let it sit too long and they will be slimy. It's in season now and you can find it at any grocery store in the south (not sure where you are). If you're unfamiliar with it, they should be shorter than your middle finger or else they're too tough. Make sure you will be home/have access to a bathroom for a couple of hours the next morning. (for a one-time thing, I'd eat 8-12 but you might want to be on the low end your first time. If eating it several days a week, 7 will do it). This stuff is like scrubbing bubbles for your butt.0

When I have trouble going I drink a little can of prune juice. Maybe you can add that in to your calories every other day. It's just extra fiber.0

Sparkling pear juice. And no, I didn't drink it for this reason - it was a complete surprise!0

Your diet sounds quite like mines when i done keto. My fiber was really low and i'd never experienced problems before that. I decided to come off it, tracked my fiber for a week and have been fine ever since.0

Is that Senna Leaf tea? Because that's what I was going to recommend. I find that things are a lot less "regular" since I've started eating more protein, and senna leaf tea (occasionally) really helps. I find that it's best to take it at night, and it kicks in around the next morning.0 -
Not eating enough food, that was what my p roblem was0

Blueberries and tomatoes. Oh, and yogurt. My doctor recommended a probiotic when she diagnosed me with IBS. It helps so much. I try to fit in a cup of greek yogurt a day. If I can't fit it in, I take a probiotic supplement.0

When that happens to me i drink green tea or eat KFC that works forsure0

Maybe it's a free range poop.0
